About this listen

A time bomb, waiting to go off....

Lucy Harris is on the run, not sure where she can turn to for help, or if help is even available. But even as her abductors chase her down, she realizes they don't just want to recapture her, they want to erase her.

When your very existence puts a planet at the risk of war, there's no choice but to do everything in your power to stay out of your enemies' hands.

A predator...waiting for the chance to pounce

The powerful AI battleship, Bane, is accompanying the United Council envoy to Tecra to mete out the punishment the Tecrans have earned for breaking UC law. He revels in the power he's about to have over his old masters. But his mission isn't only to rain down retribution on the people who kept him chained for years, he's also looking for a human woman his fellow Class 5 thinking system mentioned in the final seconds of his life. Paxe admitted to taking Lucy Harris from Earth, and Bane has been looking for her ever since.

A warrior conflicted....

Commander Dray Helvan thinks the Grih made a mistake in not pushing for war with the Tecran, but he's had to accept the compromise, that he and the other envoys from the United Council will go to Tecra and dismantle its military from the top down. His mission is not one of his choosing, but when he and his team arrive, he's handed a very different job. While he distrusts Bane on principle, when the thinking system tells him there's a woman running for her life on the planet below, he will do whatever he has to to see her safe. And if that means war for Tecra, well, then it means war.

Note: Dark Matters can be listened to as a standalone novel but is part of a larger story arc in the Class 5 series.

they started out straight up white girl woman and I believe the second one was still white but a little ethnic in there in the third book my girl was definitely a different acknowledge at least but still I think primary White and the fourth one I believe was they all was Americans too but this girl was at the good mix I would say black cuz she do have black in her blood but her skin was darker and her hair was curling up but still soft so she had white black poly Mexican and all the rest of them she was a pure American but all in all it was all girl power woman power their voices I wonder if the mails could sing from Earth I mean I know we can but it don't say they didn't pick up no mails but I'll give it a four for a cute romantic story four stars

What a pleasant surprise!!!

This whole series is amazing and surprisingly clean when it comes to sex. They have it, but it’s not talked about much except for a mention afterwards. I loved that because the stories are ALL WONDERFUL sci-fi listening! Not bored ever, one single time, and every story was a great addition to the world-building. I don’t want to give away spoilers so I’ll end with a mention that Christina Delaney is AMAZING with narration! How does she DO sooo many different voices??!!! AWSOME pairing of her with these books— whether you listen to one or all, you will not waste a credit on any of these books! Loved them.

Just as excellent as the previous installments!

This was so worth waiting for. Lucy is a wonderful heroine, and the plot is utterly immersive.

Great 4th in the series

I am sad to see this series is over. Lucy was the 4th human woman kidnapped and is on the run because the predators that kidnapped her are about to be caught red handed on their planet by the United counsel. Commander Drey a Grih is sent to begin 5 years of oversight on Tecra. Bane the neutral Class 5 finds out from Paxe before his demise about Lucy and must find her. Music is an important day to day mental health balm to humans and play a smaller role in this book.

Disturbing change in cover art.

I have loved this series since its debut, and very recently with the release of book 5 they redid the cover art, disturbingly they changed the picture in this book from a black woman (which matches the character description by the author) to a white woman that doesn't match the character described within. I know that covers are more driven by publishers but its weird so see them strip diversity from the series in this day and age.

A worthy addition to the Class 5 series

Strap on your seatbelts for another exciting romantic space opera adventure. Earth woman Lucie is running for her life on the alien planet Tecra, and she gets some help from a Grih military officer and Bane, an AI on a warship. Marvelously perfect narration makes this audiobook much better than the ebook.

A fun scifi ride!!

I enjoyed this series very much, some situations were similar but they helped tie the story together. It was a great listen for me and I definitely recommend. The narrator did a great job as well.

A Satisfactory Ending

I like the first three books better. I just couldn't connect with the characters in this one. Lucy just annoyed me. Though the whole concept of the series was good.
