About this listen
As conflicting expectations strain Dagor and Frankie’s budding relationship, they join a shore excursion to the ruins of Tehuacalo, where an ancient map of dubious origins claims a powerful amulet is buried. Despite Kian’s reservations about the danger of entering cartel territory, Kalugal is set on leading the group of immortals, gods, and one human on an adventure and promises they will be back in time for Amanda and Dalhu’s wedding.
When the leisurely archeological quest turns into a deadly conflict, the group stumbles upon a much more precious treasure than the amulet they have set out to uncover.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Romance, adventure, overcoming the odds!!!
The best thing about this series is the ongoing storyline that makes each character become like a friend! The worst thing about the series is the wait for the next book😋 This chapter of the series brings adventure, a rescue, and a life threatening injury for Frankie that brings Dagor to some important revelations! Another great addition to the Children of the Gods series!

Great story
I love this writer ❤️ she thinks outside of the box. On this book it seems Tobe a copy of the last few. I guess after 78 books it is starting to lose it shock after the scripts.

The writing is vivid and imprints a clear picture of what’s happening in the story.
I have read and reread this series several times. Now I’m listening to it in audible. The books are so well written, I never get board and usually find something I missed previously! There are so many directions the story line can go….. it’s so exciting!

Awesome series! Frankie (Mia’s friend) meets another god Dagor, her true love mate. Pretty sure she is a dormant. Love all the immortals & gods in these novels. So excited to read the next one.

I.t. Lucas never disappoints. Another great book.
Queen Ani’s spies in the Eternal Kings court let her know that the king suspected that Ahn had fathered the Kra-ell queen's twins. His suspicion where reinforced when it became clear that the twins were smuggled with the settlers aboard the Kra-ell ship.
Also it kinda looks like the Eternal King may or may not have been behind the death of almost all of the gods he sent to earth in order to neutralize any threat to him and his throne.
Kalugal leads a group on an expedition where they find a powerful amulet and Jacki has a vision that leads to them rescuing innocent women and children from a rebel force.
