Excellent listen - oddly enough my first Dean Koontz book. Dean is an amazing writer, but I found myself wishing there was a bit more to this universe. It was a very short book and I wish that Dawson's character was better utilized after he discovered his potential.

Regardless, a great listen.

I have enjoyed Koontz books before and this was generally well-written but sorely needed 75% more scares and 100% fewer conversations where the detective partner is being insufferable and combative for no reason. The performance was excellent but I can't really recommend it unless it's free
