About this listen

The lion's jaws gripped David Livingstone's arm. Razor-sharp teeth pierced his flesh as the lion savagely shook David in the air like a rag doll. A gunshot rang out. "God help us," David moaned, as the lion dropped him and turned to charge David's friend Mebalwe.

With the heart of an explorer and the passion of an evangelist, David Livingstone mapped vast unexplored areas of Africa, sharing the gospel with whomever he encountered. His stamina, perseverance, and dogged determination created the legacy of a trailblazing explorer with an undying hunger to make Christ known wherever his steps led him.

David Livingstone's captivating adventures and tireless zeal continue to inspire countless men and women to bring the gospel message of God's love to those souls who have never heard.

Great person to have your children look up to. A selfless person who lived for Christ, tried to tell the world about him, and tried to help abolish the slave trade. A true Christian Hero.

I don’t think there are people like David Livingston anymore! His single-mindedness and stubborn determination to do whatever he decided he wanted to do was so astonishing that I almost feel he was crazy. I have never met anyone even close to what he was like, so that’s why I say I don’t think people like him exist anymore.

Amazing man

Great book! fantastic story telling, accurate accounting and overall very inspiring. God really used Dr. Livingstons tenacity and disregard for personal safety to pave the way for the gospel to the interior of Africa.

Very inspiring!

That's all I ever knew about David Livingstone was that phrase. But, he was oh so much more. In one of the Benges' books a missionary states that they did not want to be a Veranda Missionary. David definitely wasn't a veranda missionary, he went as far as his health, finances and his dreams would take him and then he went further. I didn't even know that he had been married and that he had children, too. I am so glad that I got to know him better and that I learned to not be satisfied with the status quo, ever.

Dr. Livingstone, I presume?
