Publisher's summary

Iconic voice of esoteric spirituality Mitch Horowitz provides today’s most impactful work on how and why your mind shapes reality.

Daydream Believer is Mitch’s ultra-statement: this landmark of practical spirituality repairs the gaps in mind-power philosophy and provides a usable, persuasive, and intellectually rigorous vision of why thoughts are causative

In Daydream Believer, Mitch upends outmoded spiritual concepts and tells the hard-won truth: you experience psychical lives among infinite realms; your mind is an extraphysical and reality-selecting force; and your metaphysical powers are more freely available than you may realize. Daydream Believer explores:

  • The causal power of a wish alone.
  • How to tap the energies of thought during periods of grief, depression, or anxiety
  • Why prayer and deific petitioning work.
  • How acknowledgement of suffering is a metaphysical force.
  • The outer reaches—and limits—of mind power.
  • What the ablest critics of mind metaphysics get right and wrong.
  • Unimpeachable scientific evidence of the extra-physicality of thought.

“My hope,” Mitch writes, “is that Daydream Believer takes the last 150 years of experimentation in New Thought to its sharpest peak and sets us on a path for the next stage… If you find my claims bold, I trust that you will find my self-disclosures—necessary for any honest reckoning of practical philosophy—equally so.”

Paris Match: “Convincing…takes us far from naive doctrines.”

Filmmaker Magazine: “A genius at distilling down esoteric concepts.”

Duncan Trussell: “Brilliant.”

The finest work of modern New Thought written to date

This is Horowitz’s best book yet. It’s fresh, fierce, expertly crafted, and intellectually provocative. The narration is wonderful, too. I’m already reaping the benefits of Mitch’s instruction in these pages in my own life.

I just disagree with the content.

The book is fine if it works for you. It's really not that mystical if you're just looking for a new twist on something you already know is working. I'm not gonna bargain with the devil, that's for sure!

Interesting ideas but in wild needs of an editor

Mitch is getting more exploratory and stream of consciousness in his writing. This is not an issue in and of itself, but he is falling prey to two associated flaws: a tendency to go on self indulgent asides and a real propensity for overly florid language and syntax. One had to wonder if a self consciousness of some of the abstract nature of his ideas leads him to overcompensate with overly formal writing style.

Mis-titled

While the author goes through countless stories and facts ad nauseum, he spends little time telling the reader how to make dreams become reality. Lots of words with little relationship to the title. Sorry Mitch.

Love the content and narrative!

HATE the intro music on this and every book in the series! it reminds me somehow of a dentist office...seriously, on more than one occasion I've turned away from listening because I just couldn't take that lousy score...please do a better job of setting the mood.
