About this listen

In the shadow of Diane Fallon's new forensic lab in Georgia, a land survey crew had discovered three bodies hanging in an isolated patch of woods.

The sensational case has aroused the interest of the media, unnerved the locals and inspired a gruesome game between the killer and Diane.

It begins with taunting e-mails and chilling phone calls. Where it leads is a dangerously personal investigation as each bizarre clue brings Diane closer to a heartless betrayal and a desperate man's obession for justice.

MUST READ GOOD MYSTERY !

The reader has some very weird pronunciations, both of words and names. The name pronunciations might just be different than I expected, but there’s no excuse for mispronouncing ordinary words.
I also expected more “personality” to the reading. It’s rather flat, all the characters sound alike.

The story is very good, it kept my interest and I did not guess the killer. The end has a quick pace and is enjoyable. I would like more books by this author, but NOT with this narrator. She has random accents which are distracting and is incapable of pronouncing words my elementary school kids could say correctly the first time they encountered them.

Great story, lousy narrator

I'm still on part one and I'm already caught up into the story line. But the narration is so bad, I'm not sure I can finish the book! The narrator has a great voice, but the poor flow, mispronouncing of words, and hesitations are very off putting (didn't anyone think to seek advice on how to pronounce medical words like "carotid". It sounds as though it was not listened to after the narrator finished. I'm quite surprised actually, I've never known Audible to produce such shoddy work.

Tightly written, poorly narrated.

She definately is not Patricia Cornwell. However, parts of the book were excellent. Parts made me feel like I was sitting in a college lecture class. Although I like this reader, this just wan't the book for her. It was definately not worth the price. I'm glad I could use a credit. If you're just looking for something to read and like medical mysteries, you will probably enjoy this one.

good listen

I love this type of book, however I just couldn't get into this one. I don't know if its the recording or some issue with my playback, but there were what seemed like very poorly placed pauses. The pausing made the audio feel choppy and hard to follow. The narrator's ever changing accent was distracting as well, some words were pronounced with a Canadian accent, other times she seemed to be trying for a Southern accent. These distractions coupled with the slow movement of the plot made this a hard listen for me.

Slow

Having read the book first, I was looking forward to hearing this story brought to life. To my disappointment, Ms. Peart is completely flat and expressionless, and mispronounces so many simple words that I stopped listening after the first 80 minutes.

Great story, incredibly bad narration
