Brain surgeon Russell is confronted with an impossible choice. His eight-year-old daughter has been kidnapped by terrorists, and, unless he agrees to their demands, they plan to bury her alive. Great Book

Although the story was far-fetched, I really enjoyed it. The narrator was not my favorite, but not bad either. Many things were completely unrealistic, such as shooting a man in the head, breaking a door down with a sledge hammer, then telling his daughter to hold her voice down so no one can hear them, If you can ignore things like that you will enjoy this book.

terrible narrator

Seriously, really bad narrator.
A poor reading can ruin a reasonably good book - this is one of those times.

Send Alfred back to the Batcave!

I could only get as far as the second chapter as the narration is sooooo bad it made me rip off my earbuds. This guy tells this story like he his reading from a book - no intonation, no distinction between characters, no emotion...just a boring actor who would put a classroom or lecture hall full of people to sleep in minutes! Sorry, as the story sounded promising.

Good but heavy on medical

I'm just now realizing that this author is going to become another favorite and is like Robin Cook - writer/Doctor.

This book gets really heavy on neurology medical jaragon a few times but other than that I enjoyed it.

The narrator has a bit of a grating voice - I found that slowing down the speed helped a bit.

The Narrator made it difficult to hear!

The narrator was very bad, and the pronunciation of Ahmad's name was irritating.
the story was far-fetched, but predictable.

I liked the story but the narrator was boring!

This was my fourth book by Allen Wyler. They are free on Audible. The first book I listened to was "Deadly odds" and I didn't like it at all. The other books have been ok. My biggest problem with this book was the narrator! He was really boring to listen to but after a while I got used to his voice.

The book has a lot of medical words but as a former registered nurse I didn't really mind that. Allen Wyler is a Neuro surgeon so he knows what he is talking about in this book. The book could have been shorter it felt like the story wasn't moving forward in the middle of the story. 3.5*

Medical Textbook

storyline progresses more like a dry medical journal, so slow that I could not continue to listen. The reader is not reading a story, he's reading a textbook without much inflection in his voice that sometimes it's hard to tell the character's apart. Sorry I tried to finish listening to the entire book but just couldn't
