Publisher's summary
John Horton Slaughter fought on the blood-soaked battlefields of the Civil War. He drove thundering cattle across a dangerous frontier, and faced the deadliest outlaws as a Texas Ranger. Now, best-selling authors William and J.A. Johnstone tell the story of this towering historical figure — the man who tamed Tombstone, Arizona.
Enticed by the richest poker tournament the West has ever seen, a horde of cheating and ruthless of card players is gathering at Tombstone, Arizona. Lawman John Slaughter already has his hands full when a local Romeo takes off with a rancher’s daughter and draws the ire of her father and a blood-thirsty posse. Back in town, a murder shatters the poker tournament, where a beautiful Englishwoman is the prime suspect. John Horton Slaughter has been to hell and back as a soldier, rancher, and Texas Ranger and this just might be his toughest day yet. To set things straight he’ll need every bullet he can muster, aim straight, and shoot to kill. And kill again....
Forget keeping the peace. This is war.
Performed by Terence Aselford, David Jourdan, Nick DePinto, Laura C Harris, Andy Clemence, Dani Stoller, Andy Brownstein, Bradley Smith, Gregory Wooddell, Evan Casey, Kimberly Gilbert, Patrick Bussink, James Lewis, Scott Graham, Eric Messner, Jonathan Feuer, James Konicek, Eric Singdahlsen, Eva Wilhelm, Bill Gillett, Christopher Scheeren, Nora Achrati, Ken Jackson, Michael Glenn, Nanette Savard, Nathanial Perry, Richard Rohan, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Mort Shelby, Scott McCormick, Yasmin Tuazon.

There’s nothing particularly unusual for a legendary gunman to be summoned to the lawless, bullet-riddled territory of Arizona. But when Frank Morgan, a.k.a. the Last Gunfighter, rides into Tucson, he finds himself ambushed and kidnapped by ruthless Mexican bandit Ramirez’s army of thugs. The only way out is for Frank’s son, Conrad Browning, heir to the vast Browning fortune, to ransom his father free. But Conrad isn’t giving up one cent. He’s got a far deadlier currency in mind.

Their father is Luke Jensen, supposedly killed in the Civil War. Their uncle Smoke is one of the fiercest gunfighters the West has ever known. It's no surprise that the inseparable Ace and Chance Jensen have a knack for taking risks - even if they have to blast their way out of them. Chance is a bit of a hothead, good with his gun and his fists. Ace is more of a thinker, sharp as a snake bite and just as deadly quick.

Story
In his mountain-man days, Elwood “Firestick” McQueen was practically a living legend. His hunting, tracking, and trapping skills were known far and wide. But it was his deadly accuracy with a rifle that earned him the Indian name “Firestick.” His two best buddies are Malachi “Beartooth” Skinner—whose knife was as fatal as a grizzly’s chompers—and Jim “Moosejaw” Hendricks, who once wielded the jawbone of a moose to crush his enemies in the heat of battle. Of course, things are different nowadays.

Story
Arizona Ranger Sam Burrack thought he’d seen every despicable act of cruelty and murder any man could exact on another. He thought wrong. When he stumbles upon the butchered remains of a scalp-taking massacre, he’s choked with disgust. So Burrack teams up with veteran Sheriff Boyd Tackett, who’s more than willing to help bring these vile rats to justice.

Deadly Day in Tombstone
This is a action packed story with a good storyline. It held my interest. John Slaughter is a tough take control sheriff. There is a couple different things going on in this book. A guy accused and arrested and escaped for a crime he's innocent. There's a card game going on with the stakes high. I like this series. This is a movie in your mind style of book with several narrators. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.
