About this listen

Sparks fly when a sexy rock star is reunited with his small town, childhood best friend. With someone trying to tear them apart, can new love survive?

People think they know Jase Connors: former front man for Kings Quarters, successful solo artist, consummate playboy. They’re unaware of his humble roots, unmatched generosity, and affection for his family. But Jase is tired from road life. Tired of road life. Just plain tired. He’s seeking solace and someone who likes him for who he is and not what he became.

Cami Ossining harbored a massive crush on her childhood best friend Jason, who ghosted her to pursue rock star fame. Spunky, albeit lonely, Cami remains in her small hometown, selflessly caring for everyone around her.

When his beloved high school teacher passes away, Jase returns to his Midwestern childhood home to honor the teacher’s final wishes. And as Cami is forced to work with Jase planning the memorial, old regrets start to fade, replaced by new feelings and emerging desires.

What happens when someone trying to come between them tests their rekindled friendship and new-found love for one another?

If you love steamy rock stars, small-town romances, second chances, forced proximity, and combustible chemistry rolled into a fast-paced story, scroll up now to buy.

Dear Future Self is the second in the Starfish: A Rock Star Romance series but can be listened to as a stand-alone.

Second Chance to Love!

Dear Future Self is spin-off novella of Starfish, a Rock Star Romance. Jason and Cami's second chance to love is fun, sweet and sexy. They are both great characters. I love Mr. Hancock's Dear Future Self idea! The Girl Scout is hilarious!! Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro did a great job with the narration. I loved it!

Absolutely stunning novella!

Fantastic novella and short listen from Lisa Becker. She has a way of writing a story that just sings to your heart. Together with the performance of Tim Paige and then that final epilogue by Kelsey Navarro, it was just absolutely perfect. I loved every second of this sweet, heartfelt romance. It is always wonderful to have spin off books or novellas of books you really enjoy. It was so great to hear Jace's story, and still get that little appearance from Brad that we loved so much in Starfish. Great listen and highly recommend.

Short and Oh So Sweet!

I very much enjoyed this sweet, romantic short story! I dived right into Dear Future Self right after I Finished Starfish by Lisa Becker. Jase and Cami are super cute and I loved their connection! Everything about this story was just so sweet and had me swooning! I was head over heels for this book from beginning to end! This may be short but it is definitely worth it! Especially with how the title fit into the story. This has become another one of my favorites!

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

Very cute & sweet novella. While this can be a standalone, I think you should listen to Starfish first so you can get to know Jase better. I really enjoy second chance romance and Jase & Cami's relationship has that long lost love feeling from the beginning of this novella. I have to say, this book shows Jase's sweet & humble side for sure and I love that he worries about taking the spotlight away from others or people knowing he is behind any good deeds. To me that just makes him ever more likable.

The narration was great. The book is almost all Jase's POV so Tim Paige narrates most of the book and he does a good job. Kelsey Navarro only does a very small part but she was great!

loved this cute little novella

This book was great. Just the right amount of feels to bring me back to the place I loved with Jace and Cami. I couldve totally listened to a few more hours. I really enjoy listening to this author. Tim did a great job and I loved the little bit I got from Kelsey also.

Quick and Fun Novella!

Overll 4 stars
Narration 4.5 stars
Story 4 stars

This was a quick and fun novella featuring Jason (Jace) from Starfish. I really loved the premise of the "Dear Future Self" letters and how they played into Jason's return home. Things move very fast between Cami and Jason, but it worked since they had been childhood best friends and the foundation was already there. I do wish there would have been a few more scenes of them getting to know each other again as adults though. There wasn't a ton of drama and the ending really was perfect. I really enjoyed the narration by Tim Paige. He's a newer to me narrator, but I thought he balanced Jason's playful and bolder sides very well. Kelsey Navarro only narrated one chapter, but she complemented Tim Paige well. I wish that Cami would have had more chapters, so we could have gotten a better glimpse of things from her point of view. Overall, Dear Future Self was a fun trip back to the Starfish world!

Cute & Fast

This book follows leads singer Jason “Jase” McNamara from Starfish (listen to that one first to understand references)

I liked this story and it makes sense why it was fast as they had been childhood friends with possibly always a little more underlying.

Jase trusted Damon annnnddddd BAM lol

Tim Paige ROCKS! Kelsey Navarro ROCKS!

Great story & narration

Dear Future Self by author Lisa Becker was a sweet, fun & sexy story that I really enjoyed. I really like the storytelling from this author and enjoyed seeing Jase rekindling his relationship with childhood friend, Cami and getting their HEA. I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook narrated by Tim Paige who’s performance brought this story and the characters to life. His transition from portraying the hero to heroine was seamless and believable. I also enjoyed narrator Kelsea Navarro’s performance of the epilogue.

Fabulous Story & Listen🎧📚🎧A Sweet & Spicy🔥Delight!

One of the reasons I loved “Starfish”, the first book in the series was the amazing characters, I was so happy to hear Lisa Becker was not done with them. Jase Connors was the lead singer of “Kings Quarter” before the band imploded, Damon, the band’s manager took Jase out on his own and he became a successful solo artists. While on tour his Mom calls to inform him Mr. Hancock, his HS teacher who he had a good relationship with, passed away. Jase returned home for the funeral, he also learns Mr. Hancock left something in his will for him. Cami Ossining was good friends with Jase, they’ve known each other since they were young kids, she knew him when he was just Jason McNamara, the kid next door and boy she crushed on, but he went on to be famous and forgot all about her. When Jase went to the reading of the will she was there, while he was glad to see her, she was not thrilled to see him and he could not understand why until he realized how he treated and ignored her. But the two had to work together to follow thru on Mr. Hancock’s last wishes. I loved how everything plays out in this book, also love how much story Lisa Becker managed to fit in this novella sized book. It is well written and cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some heartfelt moments and some hot romance. It was great to hear a little about Brad and Marin, great to see Damon has not changed his conniving ways, too NOT! So glad all works out in the end and they get their happily ever after. Thank you for another awesome story, I loved the premise of “Dear Future Self”, loved Cami and Jase’s letters too and Mr. Hancock’s sly move.

Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro are talented narrators and voice artists. Tim Paige is a rock star, he portrayed Jason perfectly, captured his personality and all his emotions which can be heard in his performance, he did a great job with all the other characters too. Kelsey Navarro knocked it out of the park in the final chapter with Mia’s POV, she too grasped her character’s persona perfectly. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
