About this listen

Finnley O'Connell is at a crossroads when her life takes an unexpected turn after getting fired from her family's lawn care business. Seeking refuge in Chicago with her gay uncle, Finnley discovers a vibrant city and a new sense of freedom. But it's meeting Emerson, a captivating and mysterious woman, that truly changes everything. Drawn to Emerson's strength and vulnerability, Finnley begins to untangle the threads of her own heart and identity. What begins as a temporary escape turns into a journey of self-discovery.

As Finnley navigates her new surroundings and grapples with her own identity, she realizes that Emerson might be the missing piece in her life. But with their newfound relationship comes a host of challenges, from family conflict to personal insecurities. Will they be able to weave a beautiful tapestry of love and connection, or will the threads of doubt and uncertainty tear them apart?

The beautifully crafted characters and vivid descriptions will leave you immersed in the world of Finnley and Emerson long after the ending.

I couldn’t put this down! Erin Zak writes beautiful characters and illustrates their journeys so well. There was great balance highlighting Finn’s emotions and struggles and how she managed her internal dialogue. And then there’s Emerson, a calm storm who was delicate in her ways. This story was executed so well!

Abby Craden, what else can I say?!

Phenomenal

Unique manner of bringing two women together. Both were dealing with difficult life changing events. I loved the new family Finnley found with her Uncle in Chicago… I wish the author would have ‘solved’ her work passion issue as well. That aspect was left without resolution..The narration was spot on and sexy as always…. I would love a sequel because I really like all of the characters in the final ‘family’ dynamic… I will definitely try to find another book by this author

Intriguing Love Story

Great story and it was wonderfully told! So many twists and turns I was on the edge of my seat til the end. Of course, Abby Craden’s performance was perfect!

Abby as always is outstanding.. and Erin wrote a wonderful story that wove in so much.. love, loss, family, finding yourself it’s all here.. while you usually think you know where things are going she manages to throw in some surprises.. would recommend..

Well told story…

Erin Zak throws a few unexpected punches in this sweet and bittersweet "everyone knows but me" toaster oven story. Throw in a fabulous gay uncle and his stoned ex-wife along with an unpleasant soon-to-be ex-fiancé and the guilt-ridden hostility of a cheating wife and there's plenty of 'it's complicated' to go around.

Abby Craden does her consistent strong performance, though her vocalization of Emerson's character is sexy af.

Sweet toaster oven romance with family disasters

I listen to all of Abby Craden’s wlw works so that’s how I found this one. It was pretty good and I think I’ll try another book by this author even if it’s not narrated by AC.

Nice story

I love a good sapphic age gap romance! And this one did not disappoint! Well developed characters and plot, good spice scenes! But- this did not play into the normal f/f drama. This story is way more realistic in the sense that not everything is going to be a nice light fluffy romance story. I was happy to see that all the FMC's were mature and did communicate while focusing on their individual happiness and mental health. Found family was great too. A good read and Abby Craden was incredible as always ❤️

Rollercoaster

Awesome writer/narrator combo! Erin never writes anything that isn't great & Abby is the best narrator, hands down. This story, the characters, the humor & sexy scenes don't disappoint!

Great, as usual!

I Love this book. I was so suck in by this story and I just couldn't stop listening. Erin Zak is a fabulous writer and then she went to get the fabulous narrator Abby Craden. I was SO HAPPY. I hope to hear more books narrated by Abby Craden, but I still love Lula Larkin! Great book.

Beautiful story.
