About this listen

All magic comes with a price tag.

It's a lesson witches are taught from a young age, along with the ones about how we'll never survive a vampire turning, how hunters will always seek to eradicate us, and how a devil's bargain can never be broken.

But together, my rebels and I have shattered every last rule, ignored every last warning. We've grown stronger because of it, and so far, we've survived everything fate has thrown our way.

So what's one more warning shunned, one more cosmic law overturned in the face of such a devastating loss? To keep the men I love safe, there's nothing I won't risk. Break. Destroy.

What's done is done. All we can do now is face the consequences, and hope that when fate comes to collect, we can afford to pay the price.

Contains mature themes.

Sarah Piper's world we're just living in it. The performance always delivers, and the story and writing did not disappoint.

I feel the male reader is a distraction (not needed)with the voice changes. Female reader set all the voices well.

It was funny and main character was badass. I liked the different classes of magical beings.

Love Love Love this series. Each book so far has not disappointed in any way. The narrators provide much to enhance dialogue and action. Many characters to voice with each easy to identify. Virtual voice hasn't provided enough emotional narration. But Audible virtual voice is Much better than any others like what I find on YouTube.

Sex Scenes are heating up

I am not a fan of the male narrator. I wish they would find a better reader! I also wish that they could read together, the female read the female parts while the male reads the male part. I don’t like how the female reads male parts and vice versa. Very distracting at times from the plot of the books.

Find a better narrator

I really enjoy the series however, I'm not fond of the narrator's of this story!!
the accents that the narrator's are trying to do is annoying.

Good story line!

A lot of filler. So much it’s most of the plot. I could write what actually happens to advance the story in one paragraph, showing what a waste of paper and time this book was. I found myself looking at the chapter and finding it was at 26 and nothing had happened beyond Emilio living, which we already knew would happen in the not so cliffhanger attempt at a cliffhanger at the end of the last book. The bad writing could be an attempt to please the publisher, as reverse harem books will never be vastly popular, but will be bought by a small targeted audience. This bad writing would never work in a widely popular series. If it wasn’t free, I’d want money back on this one.

Re: Narration
This is for the entire series, but I was hoping it would get better with some direction. Clearly, the entire series was recorded in a few days without feedback. A sexy character (written as the modern romance novel sexiest of the men as he’s an incubus) is of all characters and times the worst to apply a bad imitation of Trump’s cringy idiolect. One should never apply a politician’s very distinctive idiolect to a character when narrating…especially when one of the distinctive characteristics is inappropriate emphasis, if one can consider the bizarre cadence and monotone giving emphasis on anything. It isn’t a perfect imitation and wouldn’t work in television, but would if used with anyone in person in conversation. I don’t care (in this case) where one’s politics stand, but never use part of a a recognizable idiolect when narrating!!!! (Especially a disgusting råpist’s for a character who restrains himself from touch to not harm the main character.)

I have heard very early work by Tristan and it lacked this impairment of his voice work, so clearly his “I’m the coolest, and I mean reeaally cool, the coolest cool…everybody says so” cool impression has been pulled out too many times and is impacting his work. Just stop. It’s a cardinal sin of narration. The same could be said of any very distinct idiolect, from another politician like Obama to actors, such as Christopher Walken or John Travolta.

Snoozefest, not much happens until the last chapters…and that’s not much.
