Critic reviews
"The reader who hasn't yet discovered Malliet's St. Just Mystery series has a real treat in store... Malliet's writing is both smooth and elegant and her humor delicious." ( Booklist, Starred Review)
"Fans of Dorothy Sayers's novels and other Golden Age British mysteries will enjoy this contemporary salute, which even includes the traditional gathering of suspects at the end when the detective reveals all." ( Library Journal)

Would you listen to Death at the Alma Mater again? Why?
Good story, but the Americans portrayed are such jerks, and such cliched stereotypes, it is laughable. Better to leave them out.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No.Americans are stereotypes, and not good ones!

Like I said, it was ok, but if you haven't read G.M. Malliet before, I'd suggest Death of a Cozy Writer (St. Just) or Wicked Autumn (a Max Tudor mystery).
