About this listen

Gabriel Travis – a poet and book binder – has lived and worked above the popular bookshop in Chipping Common for many years. His story is tragic, his murder even more so. The police are convinced the bookshop owner is the culprit; the elderly and erudite, Ezekiel Melnyk.

Adeline Fanshawe is less convinced, indeed she is outraged that the police could even consider such a thing of the venerable bookseller. She naturally turns to Miss Busby, persuading her to bring her sleuthing skills to unpick the truth of the matter. In doing so, Miss Busby uncovers another tragic mystery, one that has lain dormant for far too many years.

If you love Miss Marple, you'll love this!

Great job with character development!

Following the developments with Ms. Busby starting as amateur sleuth to detective! The storytelling brings Ms. Busby and her sidekick to life. The mannerisms and behavior of the period appear genuine.

KM stories are a joy to read. Anxiety sets in as I wait for future adventures with Ms. Busby.

Fabulous second installment

The second installment of the new series by Karen Menuhin is amazing, she seems to click all the boxes. Interesting plot, sensitive, useless, treated beautifully, and even a budding love story. My favorite current detective series! Excellent narrator.

Great telling of a meaty mystery.

Gave me enough evidence but enough possibility to keep me guessing. Liked the group of friends.

Respectful and well written characters.

I like that the stories don’t have the characters taking stupid risks. That always feels like a manipulation and a shortcut. These characters work out the answer to the mystery rather than stumbling upon it.

Great story with excellent narration

Love Miss Busby and her friends set in the post World War I background. The small village near Oxford is rife with gossip and, of course, murder which Miss Busby and her friends set to solving despite the police detective’s trying to warn hem off. With a bit of romance, too, it’s a delightful listen.

Miss Busby investigates 10/5

The Miss Busby Investigates is just as good as Heathcliff Lennox series. I enjoy listening to the audible of both series. They are both set in the 1920's era, with interesting characters and narrators that are the best i've heard ( and I listen to Audible daily)
Narrators:
Sam Dewhurst-Phillips--- Heathcliff Lennox
Corrie James--- Miss Busby Investigates

these are the type of books you will relisten to and enjoy.

Great plot and characters

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and was kept guessing whodunit till last part. I found the story and characters more developed than book 1. Looking forward to book 3.
