About this listen

Stopping the most dangerous conspiracy to ever threaten America means believing the unthinkable in an explosive novel by Wall Street Journal bestselling author Steven Konkoly.

Countersurveillance expert Devin Gray is unwittingly thrown headfirst into dangerous new territory after the death of his mother. Helen Gray, a paranoid and disgraced former CIA officer, believed she was on the verge of preventing a national catastrophe - a mission worth dying for. Others, including Devin, believe she was chasing delusions. Until he finds what she left behind.

With the help of longtime friend and former Marine helicopter pilot Marnie Young and a loyal team of covert operatives Helen summoned just before her death, Devin is propelled into a high-stakes chase across the country. What he uncovers, clue by clue, is a conspiracy more widespread and insidious than anyone could have imagined.

Now it’s Devin’s mission to destroy a covert network poised to deliver a fatal blow to the future of the United States. And also to vindicate his mother, by seeing the mission through to its treacherous end.

They're back!

I love that Konkoly is spinning this into the world as some of his other novels. The only thing I don't like is that I have to wait for the next book.

No resolution

This story has potential but you just can’t stop in the middle without resolving at least some of the plots!

The Book Has No Ending

I’ve never listened to a book without and ending. But this one leaves you in the middle of a mystery. Maybe there’s a follow up book, but this is nonsense.

4 stars . Put a lot into it. like the reader

.It is hard to right a 15 word revue when it stops you. He put a lot into getting out of trouble when needed. I like the story line.

Konkoly hits again

Took me a few minutes to get into it. Once the storyline established itself it picked up dramatically. Awesome listen can't wait to start the next book in the series.

Great listen with a deep plot.

It took a few days to listen to how the plot developed. After the plot developed I dove down the rabbit hole and really enjoyed the conspiracy. I really enjoyed the characters especially Marnie. I am glad i discovered a new author and narrator

I struggle with how to rate this story…

This story really is interesting and even though I didn’t give the book high marks, I will go on to Book 2 in the series. Here are my problems with the book. The author takes way too much time to describe everything and layout the premise of where the book is going. Thus it feels like this should been part one of a two-part book rather than a book all by itself. My second issue is with the performance. When the narrator is Doing dialogue he is very good and really nails the different voices from men and women. Sometimes the foreign accents are not so good. The problem is when he is reading the narration between the dialogue it’s disjointed and you constantly hear yourself in your head, thinking the way, he should’ve been reading rather than the way he is.
