About this listen

With little warning, a solar super flare erupts from the sun. A billion tons of superheated plasma hurtles through space. As multiple solar storms strike Earth, transformers explode, the power grid fails, and communication networks collapse. Half the world goes dark, thrusting the planet into utter chaos.

When all lights fail, who will save you?

Thirteen-year-old Shiloh wakes with a dead body beside her, her brother missing, and no memory of what happened. As fiery northern lights blaze across the sky, a killer hunts the girl through the wilderness of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, determined to silence the only witness to a brutal crime.

Undersheriff Jackson Cross races against time to catch the killer and save the girl. With law and order crumbling around him, Jackson's only hope lies with Eli Pope, a ruthless ex-convict just released from prison. But Eli has a score to settle—he's hellbent on vengeance against the very sheriff who put him behind bars.

Meanwhile, Search-and-Rescue first responder Lena Easton begins a harrowing 1600-mile journey from Tampa to the U.P. with her faithful companion, a Newfoundland dog named Bear, on a desperate mission to find the children of the one person she couldn’t save.

With society crumbling around them, the survivors must fight not only for their lives, but for everything they hold dear—hope, justice, love, and family. The struggle to survive is only the beginning.

From USA Today Bestselling Author Kyla Stone comes the acclaimed Lost Light complete series collection, a post-apocalyptic survival thriller exploring the destructive power of coronal mass ejections and the perseverance of the human spirit against all odds. Great story with excellent narration.

Great story with great character development. Lots of twists with plenty of edge of your seat moments. Narration was excellent as Stacey always is.

So immersive I felt like a part of the story.

This series has had me hooked since chapter one. I listen at home, at lunch break, and anytime I have a few minutes to listen. The characters are fantastic! Eli is my favorite. I also love in Michigan so it was cool to think how I’ve seen the towns mentioned in the story. A great read for anyone looking for a book that will keep you wanting to read more. 10 out of 10.

Too much violence.

I thought it would be more about survival than violence, torture, and suffering. I could only get through the first 3 books, skipping a few chapters where the descriptions of the fights were too much. I skipped all but the last chapter of the fourth book.

Murder mystery, not an apocalypse book

The book is fundamentally murder mystery, which is pretty good if that’s what you’re looking for. The solar magnetic storm is really a side story that adds a little bit of chaos to an already chaotic murder mystery but isn’t the main plot

Are all characters Harvard graduates?

The story is pretty darn good but I’ve noticed with a lot of writers these days try and show off how smart they are by using the Lexicon of a Harvard graduate for all their characters. No matter how good the story is or how well the narrator performs , when every character in the story uses the same advanced vocabulary as if they all graduated from Harvard University. It is distracting and really distracts from the story.
Too often The narrator makes many of characters sound like scared weepy over dramatic teenage girls. Much of the story and narration is done very well but some things just makes the story cringy.
