Publisher's summary

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Blake comes a story in her Masters and Mercenaries series…

Brian “Boomer” Ward believes in sheltering strays. After all, the men and women of McKay-Taggart made him family when he had none. So when the kid next door needs help one night, he thinks nothing of protecting her until her mom gets home. But when he meets Daphne Carlton, the thoughts hit him hard. She’s stunning and hardworking and obviously in need of someone to put her first. It doesn’t hurt that she’s as sweet as the cupcakes she bakes.

Daphne Carlton’s life revolves around two things—her kid and her business. Daphne’s Delights is her dream—to take the recipes of her childhood and share them with the world. Her daughter, Lula, is the best kid she could have hoped for. Lula’s got a genius-level intelligence and a heart of gold. But she also has two grandparents who control her access to private school and the fortune her father left behind. They’re impossible to please, and Daphne worries that one wrong move on her part could cost her daughter the life she deserves.

As Daphne and Boomer find themselves getting closer, outside forces put pressure on the new couple. But if they make it through the storm, love will just be the icing on the cake because family is the real prize.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Loved Boomer and Lou; Great Narration

I know that Boomer's story will be one of my go to re-reads. Boomer was the best, and Lou was a very close second.

I enjoyed how the MTG kids embraced Lou. I liked Daphne. I felt for her because she felt trapped in her in-laws web. I really liked how both Daphne and Lou blossomed after meeting Boomer.

This book was sweet, steamy, and romantic. I thought there was also a dash of suspense at certain points in the book. The dialogue was witty and quite often humorous.

I love Ryan West's narration. I had a difficulty couple of days, and listening to this book made me feel so much better. I was able to let go of all my stress.

If I had one wish, it would be to get details on Amelia's reaction to what she set in motion.

Great story and narration

5 Star Review of Delighted (Masters and Mercenaries # 24.5) by Lexi Blake

It’s no secret that this is one of my favourite series and I know when I start a book by Lexi Blake that I am in for a riveting read and that is exactly what Delighted was. This is Brian “ Boomer” Ward’s story and I knew that the woman who would captured his heart and soul would need to be special and that is single mum Daphne Carlton in a nutshell.
I loved Lou, Daphne’s daughter and the relationship that she developed with Boomer made my heart melt. Daphne is focused on two things, her daughter and building up her business Daphne’s Delights.
The chemistry and passion that sizzles between Boomer and Daphne is steamy. However for me it was the development of their love story that took this book to another level. The family that they make was heart warming and I was so happy that Boomer found love and happiness, he really deserved it.
This story was everything I was hoping for and so much more. It was great to see other members of McKay Tagger make appearances and an added bonus was the appearance of members of the next generation which made me so happy.
A fabulous addition to the Master and Mercenaries series. Ryan West as always did a stellar job with his narration. To me he is the series.

Mea culpa

Purchased again and after listening have changed my mind. Boomer had always been low key and not flashy in any way. He was mostly known for his many concussions, insatiable appetite, and superhuman sniper skills. This book actually fleshed him out and took his perceived weakness and changed them into strengths. Boomer is a solid, nurturing man's man with the ability to take in strays and nurture them into their best life. Dogs, cats, birds, and people all benefit from his attention and in the end this is the sweetest book in the collection. Don't remember what I was going through at the time of the first listening, but it was totally worth taking another look.

Slow Burn All The Way

This was a sweet book. The narrator was fantastic, and did all the voices wonderfully. However, for those of you who like hot and sexy this was not it.

Lexi Blake & Ryan West Do It Again

Ryan West is the quintessential narrator for Lexi Blakes Masters and Mercenaries series. He really brings Lexi's characters and stories to life ... they really are a Dynamic Duo. Love the way he does a fantastic and believable female character voice and OMG he is the voice I imagine whenever I think of Big Tag. Another 10 big sparkling ✨️ 💖 while each book is a standalone I highly recommend the series be read in order to maximise the experience due to characters crossing into successive stories. This is an author I always preorder because I know the writing, story line and characters will be amazing, filled with drama, love and a great laugh. These are stories I continue to go back to reread time and again. Love you Lexi.

Adorable!

4.5
Omg.

So, this was so cute, but in true great LB fashion, there are those moments that make your gut clench because oh… oh Boomer. My heart.

I wish a couple parts were slightly more, but otherwise just a great novella!

Love Boomer

I can't wait for the future stories with the kids all grown-up. Main those are going to be some incredible missions. Boomer is the best! I love how he got and protected his girls and made a family. This was one of my favorites.

An excellent continuation about friends of the Taggarts

Boomer wants to meet up with his neighbor Daphne’s and her daughter Lou. They have both captured Boomers heart unfortunately some upsetting things are happening in Daphne’s life. Where is all this harassment coming from. Lexi has continued her saga of the McKay Taggart group in a way that leads to continuing with all the young children as they grow up so it looks like we will be seeing more books from Lexi about the friends we’ve met over the years. Thanks Lexi looking forward to what comes next.
