About this listen

Before the war, before the Blades, before the Leader, There was a boy and a scullery maid and a secret shame.

One moonlit night of blood and knives destroyed their country and their lives forever. The Leader failed to die, but will he also fail to lead?

The only problem is that the narrator takes long pauses at times. Other than that I enjoyed this

While it’s not clear when Keevan got saved this was a beautiful redemption arc story!

This is another great story by one of my favorite authors. (The other books in this series are even better than this one!) I’ve read the book before but I think I liked the audio version even more because it made the book last longer and I was able to pay more attention to details like setting :) The only cons to it are that it’s easier to notice typos because the narrator reads the text as it is, and that there’s some awkward pauses every now and then. Still, I highly recommend this book.
