Jonathan Seede is the picture of Washington, DC, respectability, an urban pioneer with a pretty wife, a new baby, and a job at the town’s most esteemed newspaper. But 10 blocks from the White House, on the notorious 14th Street strip, a war is raging over deviant behavior. And Seede is on the front lines, deep into a secret freelance project that’s taking him to places where most people would never dare to go.
As he descends into an inferno of repressed urges and human frailties, Seede’s journey plays out against a brilliantly realized portrait of the nation’s capital, featuring pimps and hustlers, an accidental hooker, an honest cop, a storefront prophet/marijuana dealer, a beautiful teenage runaway, a crack-addicted music legend, an A-list gay activist, and a diminutive billionaire who is searching for the answers to life’s greatest questions in a crystal skull.
The first novel from best-selling journalist Mike Sager, Deviant Behavior is a mad, vivid, and daring romp through a society in crisis, and the story of what happens when one frustrated father decides to just say yes.

Mike Sager added so many characters to this story, a reporter, a gay activist, law enforcers, teenage runaway, a billionaire, pimps, hookers, drug dealer, and so many more characters. The story was good but I thought it had too many characters.
Jonathon Seede is a respectable man, with a pretty wife, a new baby, and a job at the town's esteemed newspaper company. But a war is raging blocks over from the White House, deviant behavior. Seede finds himself right on the front line by taking on a freelance project and it's taking him to places where most would never dare go.
I've heard that Mike Sager does a perfect job writing non fiction and even winning awards for his stories. This story is just as good as his other non fiction stories. However, I feel Mike lacks in places. Mike does create some humor and the characters are superb. It's one hell of a page turner if you read.
I've listened to Paul Heitsch narration of stories before and I really enjoy his narrating skills. I honestly don't think I would've enjoyed this story as much as I did if not for Paul's narration of the story. Paul does an excellent job with his performance of this story. Every time I listen to something that Paul has narrated he takes my breath away. He does a superb job changing accents. He makes you feel as if you're there watching the story unfold. I really enjoy Paul's narrative skills. I highly recommend that you give this story a chance. I think you'll enjoy it as much as I have.
