Opposites attract. The outlaw biker and the accountant. Straightlaced vs straight to hell. Or heaven, depending on how you look at it.
And you can look at it any way you like, doesn't mean it's true. Either way, falling for snarky Alexei Ivanov is the lightbulb moment I've been waiting for my whole damn life. Or at least since my head got turned by someone else. A man I call brother, but he's so much more than that.
I've loved Saint Malone for years. My loyal wingman has owned my heart so long I figured it had died of yearning for him. But Saint is as fragile as he is deadly. I don't know how to help him until Alexei brings me to life in ways I can't describe.
He opens my eyes, and I see them both.
I love them both.
With the weight of the underworld bearing down on me, I just gotta stay alive long enough to tell them.
Contains mature themes.

a pleasant surprise

This narrator made me want to go and join this biker club. 💕
What a great listen!

The narration is damn near perfection—especially Alexei’s smooth Russian voice. I love Dan Calley because he’s always on point.
One suggestion, though. Listening to this at .95 speed enabled me to understand his sometimes very thick accent and made everything that much better.
Good story, intense and likable characters, fantastic narration

The two Alphas were amazing!

Man does this author do gritty, angsty, beautifully bent characters well. The dynamics of this trio remind me of Misfits which I loved. This book is full of complex characters and a tangled web of emotions, and I loved every minute of it.
Cam is trying to run the MC he inherited from his father while not violating his morals…which everyone outside the club seems to want him to compromise. He is in love with his best friend and SAA, Saint, and always has been. For reasons I don’t fully understand, they don’t give in to those feelings. His immediate attraction and draw to Alexei confuse him because he’s so tangled up in his feelings for Saint. But he needs Alexei more than he knows.
Alexei is an enigma. He has suffered greatly, has become almost robotic with his emotions, but is slammed and surprised by his feelings for Cam, and eventually Saint. He is a rebel king in his own right and becomes very protective of Cam. He and Saint share that goal and forge a bond that even Cam doesn’t fully understand.
We don’t learn too much about Saint. He is a butterfly yet to be set free from his cocoon. He is all the things to Cam and something Alexei needs but won’t fully admit it yet (or maybe he will but he’s hard to read so who knows). He doesn’t say much but he feels, and we feel everything with him. I cannot wait to learn more about him (although it’s going to be messy and heartbreaking).
Loved the book, loved the performance

Things I love:
- Bisexuals. Three! A whole motorcycle gang of them, in fact.
- Polyamory. I always mourn the missed opportunity in these stories for some good ENM, but it's a great depiction of polyamory so I will get over it. Leigh does a really good job of communicating the eroticism and compersion
- Triangle poly (Instead of a V relationship)
- Rough play. Leigh does an excellent job of describing the pleasure and fulfillment of receiving pain and rough treatment. Super hot, her sex scenes are always smooth, fun, and cringe-free.
- minimal children on screen. Children are so tedious.
Things I dislike:
- Eroticizing condomless sex. It's pretty mild here, so it was ok. I especially don't like when it's spur of the moment, before they've talked about it. A simple "I was tested after my last partner" assurance would do the trick
- Leigh has a tendency to beat the "I love this man" first person processing into the ground. After the 50th time it's like yes, I understand. You love him. You're worried about losing him. Her books sometimes feel long and this is why. I know we all do this ruminating when we're in love, but we don't usually subject another person to every one of our moony thoughts over the course of months.
Overall, 5 stars, loved it, binge-read it in a day and moved right on the the sequel.
Oh and the narration is great.
Hot, fun, and gripping
