Her friends say he's the devil. But he might be her savior.
Devolose and Tawny have been rescued after three years together in the emperor's dungeon. Every day he was forced to inflict pain on the Earth woman he only wanted to protect. How could he not develop feelings for her when they're connected in so many ways?
But how can they trust feelings forged in captivity? The more he pushes her away to protect her, the more determined she is to stay at his side. After decades of slavery, the emperor took far more than his soul. Can half a male satisfy a complete woman?
Devolose is the fourth book in the alien abduction sci-fi romance Galaxy Gladiators Series. It can be listened to as a standalone. All I can say is open your mind and heart and you will love this reading as much as all the books before this one.
The story line is wonderful, I don't want to give away the plot. Just know that there are new dimensions.

Why I didn't give this five stars as I did to all the other stories is because it's far too introspective.
I understand that beings who've been abused are not going to bounce right back but the Stockholm Syndrome thing was pretty much belabored and soon became tiring. The story was still actually better than average but Khan herself set the bar high and now her fans are going to expect her to keep it high throughout this series. But this is still better than the average sci-romance.
My other issue is one I hesitate over but I have rather strong feelings about the narrators. This narrator did nothing wrong, really, but she had a voice like a kid I knew in junior high. It just didn't work for me. Hearing what sounds like a kid read the sexy parts made me squeamish. Tonality is everything.
So, even though this story is not as perfect as the others, I think it's still a good read and I recommend it to fans of sci-fi-fi romance.
