About this listen

A grieving football player hoping his son will speak again. A speech pathologist with a dark secret. An unexpected love that sparks danger from the past.

After Ryder Quinn’s wife died, his four-year-old son stopped speaking. Desperate for a solution, Ryder hires Bree Stevens, a spunky speech pathologist to be his son’s nanny and therapist. Bree moves in, breathing new life into their home. As his attraction for her grows, Ryder fears he might have more help than he bargained for.

Bree Stevens quickly falls for the devoted father and his adorable boy. But when her twisted past catches up with her, she has to choose: selfishly hold onto the love that she’s found, or leave and keep them safe.

Football, a devoted single dad, and a magnetic attraction. That pretty much sums up this darling story!

Ryder not only balances a successful football career, but he's the most devoted dad to cute little Tate, who hasn't spoken since his mother died. Bree is hired as a speech pathologist to help the family out. I can always count on Checketts to deliver a swoony sweet story with sparkling kisses and a sprinkle of sinister suspense.

Loved these characters and the story line!

Content: mild+ romance (kissing); mild+ religion; mild moments of danger/peril/violence

Hey, this is a great story however, when this book ended, I was left wanting more. But all in all it was a really good story.

I don’t want to give this book a bad wrap, cause it wasn’t a bad book or even a bad audio book, it was just not great. It’s not even meh because of the narrator, I’ve never heard Stephen Dexter before but he wasn’t bad. I actually think most of his character voices were pretty good, his female character voice could maybe use a little work but he’s a guy not a chick I wouldn’t expect it to be perfect.

This story has a few points throughout that are interesting and pull you in but I think part of my problem with this book is it wants go in too many directions, focus on the kid or focus on the sister. And maybe the fight scenes could have been written a little better. Or maybe it would have been better with no fight scenes, and just more focus on the kid and not some secret spy sister, and what kind of PI is going to just give you the location and that’s that.

Like I said though it’s not a bad book, just has quite a few bad parts in it. I’ll try another book by this author if it’s free, I would have been very disappointed if I would have paid a credit for this.

Not the greatest but will pass the time

Warning, you will need a tissue before it’s over. If you don’t like emotional books, it might not be your cup of tea. I loved it🥲

story was good. I was rooting for them.a few smiles, especially at the beginning. will be listening to more of her work. thanks to the author. first romance I've ever heard that was clean. no swearing, no sex, ZERO sex even. it more promoted waiting. author is clearly Christian and is not ashamed of it. I liked that. peace
