About this listen
Dividend Investing is the definitive book on how to construct a portfolio of dividend income paying stocks to create a dependable, consistent source of income.
Dividends have long provided a reliable source of income used by everyone from the ultra wealthy to pragmatic hard workers who have diligently saved for retirement. Once established, a dividend stock portfolio can provide income that is not only tax advantaged, but can grow steadily into the future, keeping up with inflation, all while requiring only minimal intellectual work and no physical effort on the part of the investor.
Listeners will learn how to fully research a stock to reduce the risks of downside and ensure a steady future stream of dividend income. They will then learn how to construct and maintain a well organized portfolio that is appropriately diversified by style of company as well as industry and sector. Listeners will learn how to navigate the inevitable missteps of dividend cuts and negative surprises, while maintaining the integrity and income generation ability of their portfolios.
The author shares insights and experiences of her clients as they have navigated dividend income investing, and in doing so, brings her readers into a world of like-minded, real people who have worked hard, saved responsibly and are able to use their dividend income streams to live their lives happily and without financial stress.

Story
The Fed today is not our friend. Its "low rates forever" policy means we must look elsewhere for yield. Dividend-paying stocks don't help. Blue chips don't pay more than 2% or 3%. On a $1 million portfolio, that's less than $30,000 in annual income. Not enough. There's a better way. Income investing experts Brett Owens and Tom Jacobs show you how to safely double, triple and even quadruple these yields. Turn that 2% that stocks pay into 6%, 7% and even 8% (for $80,000 on that million bucks) without doing anything risky.

Real estate is a powerful way to build wealth and achieve financial freedom, but the investment options can be overwhelming. Should you flip houses or buy rental properties? Should you buy locally or invest out-of-state? In the wide world of real estate, it can be difficult to identify which strategy best supports your individual vision. There is no one-size-fits-all portfolio, and ongoing uncertainty can result in analysis paralysis, investing burnout, or losing sight of your values altogether.

The Ottoman Empire has long been depicted as the Islamic Asian antithesis of the Christian European West. But the reality was starkly different: the Ottomans’ multiethnic, multilingual, and multireligious domain reached deep into Europe’s heart. Indeed, the Ottoman rulers saw themselves as the new Romans. Recounting the Ottomans’ remarkable rise from a frontier principality to a world empire, historian Marc David Baer traces their debts to their Turkish, Mongolian, Islamic, and Byzantine heritage.

The government is a vast, complex system that Americans pay for, rebel against, rely upon, dismiss, and celebrate. It’s also our shared resource for addressing the biggest problems of society. And it’s made up of people, mostly unrecognized and uncelebrated, doing work that can be deeply consequential and beneficial to everyone. Michael Lewis invited his favorite writers, including Casey Cep, Dave Eggers, John Lanchester, Geraldine Brooks, Sarah Vowell, and W. Kamau Bell, to join him in finding someone doing an interesting job for the government and writing about them.

Everyone wants ownership, but almost no one gets it. Whether we’re talking about the start-up game, the crypto game, the freelance game, or the lemonade stand game—most paths to ownership lead to dead ends. That’s why Codie Sanchez carved a new, smarter path to total freedom. In Main Street Millionaire, she reveals the method she teaches her community of seven-figure investors for building wealth by creating a portfolio of boring businesses. That’s right—the money is not in flashy startups or in the corner office.

Long view of income vs stock price
Good but maybe next book has more technical analysis of dividend investing (there's your title!). When to buy and when to sell. What metrics and history to consider. What red flags to look for once invested. The human stories were too many and apply to all investors so not really dividend specific.
