Whovians should listen to this book.

You are transported through History and become a companion to the Doctor during the Trojan war and other wars. The narrators were brilliant.

Classic Who Stories

A number of the older Doctor Who stories have been more-or-less lost to time, with there being no known complete copy of the video available (having been aired before either VCRs or re-runs were yet invented). Thankfully, those stories do at least have the audio recordings still remaining. This collection covers three such stories.

The Myth Makers is a First Doctor (Hartnell) story taking place in ancient Greece
The Massacre [of St. Bartholomew's Eve] is a First Doctor (Hartnell) story taking place in 16th-century France
The Highlanders is a Second Doctor (Troughton) story taking place in the 18th-century Scottish highlands

These stories are important pieces of Doctor Who history, with companions joining or leaving the Doctor. It's too bad the video isn't completely available, but the linking narration does a great job of keeping the audience engaged in what's occurring onscreen.

Good Who

I read another review saying how horrible this audiobook is. I completely disagree. This isn't an audiobook in that somebody is reading a book. It is an actual sound recording of THREE lost Dr. Who episodes with linking narration on each to help to explain what is happening and for a Dr. Who fan this is a must. The telesnap reconstructions give me headache, this I can listen to my car or any place and get a feel for what the episode was like without the headache. On the plus side I'm saved the poor quality sets and am able to create my own. Until the video/film records of the lost episodes are found (if they ever are) this is so far the best way to enjoy them.

Dr Who / Dr Why?

I am giving Dr Who Adventures in History a one star rating because zero stars was not a choice. This is terrible. Not bad taste, violent, racy....just bad. Boring, nearly impossible to follow and then when you do follow it...you wish you hadn't. Don't waste your time or money. Use your free time more wisely. Learn a craft, read a chilhood favorite, but skip this book and I would assume the entire series.
