About this listen
Writing with all the passion of Love Story and power of The Class, Erich Segal sweeps us into the lives of the Harvard Medical School's class of 1962. His stunning novel reveals the making of doctors - what makes them tick, scheme, hurt...and love. From the crucible of med school's merciless training through the demanding hours of internship and residency to the triumphs - and sometimes tragedies - beyond, Doctors brings to vivid life the men and women who seek to heal but who must first walk through fire. At the novel's heart is the unforgettable relationship of Barney Livingston and Laura Castellano, childhood friends who separately find unsettling celebrity and unsatisfying love - until their friendship ripens into passion. Yet even their devotion to each other, even their medical gifts may not be enough to save the one life they treasure above all others. Doctors - heartbreaking, witty, inspiring, and utterly, grippingly real - is a vibrant portrait that culminates in a murder, a trial...and a miracle.

Story
In July 2004, Barack Obama electrified the Democratic National Convention with an address that spoke to Americans across the political spectrum. Now, in The Audacity of Hope, Senator Obama calls for a different brand of politics: a politics for those weary of bitter partisanship and alienated by the "endless clash of armies" we see in Congress and on the campaign trail; a politics rooted in the faith, inclusiveness, and nobility of spirit at the heart of "our improbable experiment in democracy".

unabridged?
I was so excited to see one of my favorite books available, but almost all of the other characters except Barney & Laura are missing. Nothing about the lapsed priest, or Dr Death, or even the wonderful back story of Bennett. I was so disappointed I returned it

Cut too much out from the original story
I have listened to the full version of this story and it is one of my all time favorites. however I am very disappointed in this version, so much of the story was cut out that everything was rushed and you never got to experience the true adversity these characters experienced to become doctors. there are other doctors in this story who were barley mentioned in this version of the story, and with that left out my favorite part. In all give this a pass if you have read the original, and if you haven't get the full book, it's much better.

Terrible adaptation of the greatest book
One of my favorite books of all time, but this version is horribly abridged, it’s not worth reading this book with all the other characters’ stories missing. Read the real thing, skip this version.

One of the best books I’ve read
Was disappointed because the narration silt focuses on Laura and Barney. Bennett, Seth, Grete, Peter Wyman are all left out.
I am partial to the book. Don’t waste your money on this version, get the book instead.

NOT unabridged!
Like CLASS, this is listed as unabridged, but it's only a portion of the actual book. Left so many of the details out, it feels like a cliff notes version. Would not recommend if you are a fan of the original. However, if you have never read the book, then you should be ok. The story and performance are fine, it's just that the 'meat' of the story is missing.

Abridged garbage
I am reading this book (the actual book) but have an hour commute each day so bought the audiobook as well. BEWARE: this version of the audiobook is a fraction (at best) of the actual book and Audible isn’t very upfront that you aren’t getting the full version

Abridged
This is an abridged version of the original book. Not worth the time hear it. And the reader is not interesting.

Missing
This is one of my favorite books and I was so pleasantly suprised to see it here, read by the author at that! It states its unabridged but 2/3 the book is missing, it's literally ONLY Barney and Laura's story. Don't waste your money or your time
