Great History Lesson for listener #21

I gave this a 5 star rating which is actually only a 4. Why? Because I love Mark Thompson because I loved the M&B Show. But now not as much as I did. My wonderful memories of my time as a core listener have been slightly tainted now knowing the pain Mark was going through while he was entertaining me. I will never forget how absolutely entertained I was especially during the first five years, When the show would bleed into the following show sometimes almost a whole hour and Bob would invite the insanity and so would the listeners.
As the show progressed it still entertained and I was there all 27 years, however, the quality dipped at times but I just figured it was hard to keep it fresh for so many years, day in and day out. But now getting some insight of what was happening in the background, it makes a lot of sense. Sorry M&B had to go through all that.
I would welcome a book from Brian explaining his viewpoint as well. But after listening to this book, I would understand why he would not want to dredge up those memories.

That being said, Great job yet again Mark. I miss you guys! Hootie Hoo / Argar Largar

Fantastic reading of his own book.

As good a storyteller as he was a DJ. Mark was always my favorite of the duo and I defy anyone not to get choked up as he reads about losing his sister and mother.

Loved Every Second

Loved every second of this listen, I laughed and was brought to tears strolling down memory lane with Mark. I was an active listener from start to finish. M & B were the only constant in my life over those years. They both got me through some very tough times in my life and for that I am grateful.

If you grew up with Mark and Brian, this is a must

Mark & Brian were a huge part of my daily life in LA for years, and even after I moved out of the country, my brother would send me tapes of the birthday and Xmas shows, as well as random skits and recurring characters. They were just amazing and way ahead of their time. No way they could do half of what they did today without a ton of blowback, but my God they were funny.

To hear Mark's side of the story was just amazing, and brought back so many memories, and had a ton of insights into what was happening behind the scenes. Well told, great story, funny as hell, and it made me love Mark & Brian even more. If you lived in LA or one of their other markets, and woke up every day to their show, this is a must have.

Out fucking standing

Dude, Are you kidding me, There is nothing that could have brought back more memories of the past three centuries than your book. I bought the audible version only to hear the voice of Mark Thomson once again. I laughed and cried along with this fantastic author. Thank you

Love this guy!

Loved all the inside baseball, the arc of his story and the revelation of what happened to M&B. I’m also glad he did the reading, adds another layer of authenticity. Great job MT!
