Publisher's summary

Nowhere to run – the crime scenes are horrifying: the victims arranged with deliberate care, posed to appear alive despite their agonized last moments and the shocking nature of their deaths. No Place to Hide –Chattanooga grief counselor Audrey Sherrod moonlights for the local police. It’s clear to her, and to Special Agent J.D. Cass, that the murders are the work of a deranged serial killer. At first, the only link is the victims- similar physical appearance. But then another connection emerges, tying them to a long-ago series of horrifying crimes Audrey hoped would never resurface-crimes that hit all too close to home. No Time To Cry - Each grisly new discovery proves the past has not been forgotten, and the worst is yet to come. Audrey went looking for the truth and she-s about to find it-and it will be more twisted and more terrifying than she ever imagined.

Excellent read

Fun read if one likes “murder and mayhem”. The characters were interesting and the plot, with all its twists, was entertaining.

Great story, great narration but some loose ends.

I enjoyed the dynamics of the story. I enjoyed how the author is descriptive about mundane things you never think about in a story that expands the imagery.

The storyline is decent but lots of loose ends for me. How did she kidnap the toddlers? What happened to the killer DA? What was the daughter's response to them hooking up?

Overall, I rate the story @ 4 stars b/c of the loose ends. Story is very interesting and sometimes laugh out loud funny. Well worth a credit.

What an ending

What an amazing book. The ending was AMAZING, totally unexpected! This is the 8th book I have listened to by Beverly, again I can’t reiterate how much of a home run this book is.

Great analiytic, southern, serial killer series!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend the whole series of Beverly Barton's psychological thrillers. The book was set in Chatt. Tennessee and crossed over into North Alabama. Ms. Barton lived only thirty miles from my home and thus, I felt compelled to read her books. I was so pleased to find them well written, with an excellent plot and who done it surprise in the end. The series is very accurate with the police and detective work and of course a complicated love story to boot. Most cops/criminal books are set in areas like New York so I was excited to hear about my southern roots. Yeah, we got serial killers down here! I am sad to say that Ms. Barton passed away over a year ago and will never bless us with her powerful writing skills again. Don't miss these books, they are her legacy and gift to us all.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

yes

What does Karen White bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her gift at southern twang was interesting and she was an ok narrator.
