About this listen

Twelve years ago, our fates were sealed with a kiss.

We are all, for better or worse, doomed to love each other until death do us part. My heart belongs to Proserpina and St. Sebastian - even if he no longer wants it. Even if she has left it behind to follow him.

Delphine's fled back home, and Becket's holy calling is in peril.

And now only Rebecca and I remain at Thornchapel to face the unknown.

The door is open. The door that shouldn't exist; the door that people have died to close. I don't feel like the lord of the manor. I don't feel like a king or a wild god. I am a friend and a boyfriend and a brother - and a failure at being all of these things. But the door doesn't care about my guilt. It only cares about the sacrifice I'll make to close it.

As the bruising dark of Samhain approaches, so does the fate of our circle, of Thornchapel and the village and the valley beyond it. And I must don the crown, because one thing is still true, even if I must face it alone.

Here at Thornchapel, all kings must walk to the door.

Here at Thornchapel, all kings must die.

Door of Bruises is the fourth and final book in the Thornchapel Quartet.

This author never disappoints. I’ve read 100’s of romances and nothing about this story is predictable or follows the normal pattern of your average romance.

Everything about this series is so intensely real. You can feel the breeze in the air when she writes of it.
You see what the characters must see, feel what the characters must feel, experiencing their joys and their grief almost as if it were your own, because the written imagery is that intensely provocative.
This series tells an incredibly powerful story written by an incredibly talented story teller.

Incomparable.

I was dragging my feet to start book 3... but I am so glad I did. That's not to say I didn't love the first two books, I did. But I did not know just how much this series was going to make me feel. Such a rich story with endless layers. The spicy scenes get more frequent as the books progress (love that,) and I got so invested in these characters, I felt like they were my friends and lovers, too.
The narration is on point.
Sierra Simone is the best at what she does: spicy stories that make your toes curl and butterflies flutter from your body.

I'm drunk on Thornchapel!

I couldn’t have imagined a better ending to this series. Of course, it is filled with gratuitous spicy details, but the love stories are also so encouraging and realistic.

Awesome ending

Wonderful group of Narrators lead by Zachary Webber answering the mysteries of Thorn Chapel. True Sierra Simone angst.

All Wrapped Up!

The Queen does not disappoint! The Thornchapel series was everything I needed. Happy that everyone got their HEA. Sad to leave the world of Aiden, Poe, San Sebastián, Beckett, Rebecca & Delphine. Amazing narration by Zachary Webber, Oscar Reyes, Wesleigh Siobhan, Alyssa Avery & Emma Roya.

Stunning listen! Sierra never disappoints.

I almost abandoned this series but the way she wove snd developed the characters and plot came full circle! If you like thrill and suspense with your smut, with poly, mmc, etc. in your story, plus kink, then this series is for you!

The end was worth going through 4 books!

I was excited to see Zachary Webber back to voice Auden & Beckett, and I felt the new guy for Saint Sebastian was a strong replacement (unlike book 3).

But DEAR GOD, did no one ask the woman voicing Proserpina to audition by at least saying the character’s name? She is so nasally and awkward — it’s like nails on a chalkboard. I finally had to borrow the book from my library so I could skip the chapters she narrated and just pick up when it’s other characters. It was so bad I almost returned the book, but the solution of reading the Poe chapters was an awkward compromise.

I love everything except Proserpina

I’ve enjoyed this series so much. It wasn’t all spice like other Books of Sierras, but the story was all encompassing. I could barely put it down over the past few days. The ending is worth it, even though it breaks your heart.

A Great Finale
