About this listen

Just another urban folktale of sordid bloodlust...

The one that started it all - K. W. Jeter's first novel that took him 12 years to get published, despite every science fiction editor in America telling him it was a great book, exactly what they should be publishing, but were too afraid to pull the trigger on. The book about which Philip K. Dick said "will change your notions of what's possible in science fiction forever".

Overly graphic violence, repulsive sexual practices, scathing social commentary, and a cast of thoroughly unlikable characters - it's nearly impossible to describe. But a lot of people get killed in it, and a lot of things get blown up, a lot of which you might agree should get blown up. So, it might be exactly what you're looking for, you sick bastards.

A dark, twisted tale set that hits all the great cyberpunk notes. An age-old classic of the genre. The narration by Edison McDaniels is on point and kept me in the story for its entire 7 1/2 hour length

I can’t do it. I just can’t get in to any of the characters at all.
I love horror, cyberpunk and apocalyptic type stuff. This, I just can’t finish.
The narrator, Edison McDaniels was amazing. It’s not his fault I couldn’t get in to the book.
I’m not rating the book as I do not want to influence anyone else’s decision that way. Some may love this. I may go back to it one day but that day is not now.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
