Virtual narrator was terrible, flat and emotionless.

I actually enjoyed the story though I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was narrated by an actual person. The virtual narrator was so flat and emotionless. Didn’t emphasize at the right times or differentiate between characters which made it seem poorly written though I’m sure it really was just the AI. Want to read the next book but not sure I will if not done with a real narrator.

The book is not bad and the virtual voice is very good. It is very fluent!

I enjoyed this dragon fantasy book! Hopefully book 2 dives deeper into the lore! The Virtual voice was a surprise and it was very good.

Original ideas on a dragon based society

Virtual Voice did a good job with this book. The writer had innovative ideas on just how people can adapt to a life cut off from the main population.
This book is written about a hidden land surrounded by mountains. Magic is rich in the land and its hidden springs provide the means for the young people to evolve as they grow up.
The MC is a young man around 20 years old. He was shunned by his peers after he had failed the coming of age Firewater Ceremony that turns the keys to empowering a young man into a strong warrior.
Yet that point became mute when a vicious group of outsider March on his village.
This is a great book to listen to. The story is full of twists and turns while you watch the young man come into his own.

Very boring narrator. Monotone

Narrator is a virtual voice and it shows. Only slight inflection if any, no distinction between characters, pause after every sentence. Glad it was free with subscription, because I would not have purchased this audible version.

Reminds me of Cradle

Reminds me of Cradle: boy without power, isolated Valley... But all in all nice story.

repeat repeat

it gets kind of annoying when you have a machine talking with no emotion and having it where the author doesn't notice that there is some repeating sentences or console using the same word over and over again. if you could just fix that, it'd be perfect

intriguing story but...

look I'm going to be flat out honest the reading thing AI you want to put that on the back shelf until it can do emotion. there's just nothing there to pull you in from the reader.

Sounds Off

Not a fan of digital voice. No emotion, inflection, difference in tones, accents of different characters.
