About this listen

Like being stranded on a desert alien planet wasn't enough....

All I ever wanted was someone to love. Now my best friend is knocked up by the only hunky alien-dragon available and I can't tell anyone how totally jealous I am. The handful of humans who survived our ship's crash are locked in a struggle to live in sweltering heat with dwindling supplies.

The others are taking the life giving, addictive epis but if I take it that means I'm stuck here. Forever. Which also means the chance of being rescued by a knight in shining armor would be zero.

If that weren't enough, I go and get myself kidnapped and he's another big, sexy, alien-dragon warrior.

Contains mature themes.

Ok

The book wasn’t as good as the first but was still a nice piece of fluff. The third book I won’t be getting as it is about amara who is an intolerant bitch. Not funny bitchy just nasty. If any more of the series shows up I’ll probably give it a whirl

Great listen!!

This is the second book in the series and it is a great addition. What happens when you put a feisty human and a dragon like alien together? Lots of misunderstandings and some super steamy scenes. Throw in a lot of drama and evil 😈 slave traders to make this book well rounded and totally worth the listen. Jillian Macie and Tristan James make the characters come alive.

Delicious Fun!

I accidentally picked up the second book, but I didn't feel lost, so that was great! Let's just start this off by saying I really enjoyed the book, and Miranda will be added to my TBR. I agree with others, if you enjoyed Ice Planet Barbarians, you will most likely enjoy this series.

Was Jolie a bit too gung ho about marching into danger? Maybe, but I enjoyed her confidence and willingness to back up her man. An insta-love story with a lot of action and intrigue. This was a well-developed story line and the characters felt real. There were moments you wanted to strangle them and moment where you cheered them on. I enjoyed the Star Trek, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings references as a fellow nerd.

I enjoyed the ending. We have some more stories coming!

Another good story!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🤎💜❤️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😠☺️😋🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Jolie - she was a member of the research vessel that crashed on the desert planet and best friend to Calista from Dragon’s Baby. She had always wanted to find love and be swept off her feet by a handsome man, and was a bit jealous of her friend who got what she thought was the only available dragon on the planet.

The Hero: Sverre - He is a zmaj, a dragon on the planet Tajss. He has his own territory and doesn’t live in the same abandoned city as Ladon from Dragon’s Baby. He had initially argued that they should stay together, but each became territorial and the fight for treasure had separated them, so now each of them has their own territory. However, he crosses into Ladon’s territory because he wants to see what crashed on his planet.

The Story: The zmaj are kind of half dragon half human. They have dragon wings on their bodies but can’t really fly so much as float from high places or lift off the ground a bit. They also have scaled reptilian like skin and humanoid faces. They are adapted for the heat on the desert planet and are great hunters which is good because there are a lot of dangerous creatures on the planet.

Jolie is alone one day, trying to turn on the dome when she is attacked by creatures. She is knocked out when Sverre, who has been watching her, comes to her rescue. Jolie hadn’t yet taken any of the Epis which is a plant that grows on the planet and changes humans on a cellular level to be able to handle the desert environment. Though once changed, the human is addicted and can never leave the planet because they need the Epis. She still hoped to one day be rescued and wanted to leave.

This book was told in dual points of view by a dual narration. It and was narrated by Tristan James and Jillian Macie. Both are very good narrators and are great at displaying emotion through their voices. The story was quite different than the first one and there were new dangers on the planet, including some aliens that were once at war with the zmaj when their species was decimated.

Great fun story!

I enjoyed this second book in this series very much. It’s helpful to listen to the first book first in order to get the setting and backstory. The heroine is feeling troubled by knowing she will have to make a decision about taking the Epis soon. She had dreams of a man and family of her own, but the men that she is stranded with on the planet do nothing for her. One evening she goes for a walk alone outside the city. As she’s strolling through the sand she becomes overwhelmed and attacked by some of the planets carnivores. Saved by a local man, she is taken back to his home and tended until she wakes up. The attraction between them is instant, but they can’t speak each other’s language. On the way to the city, they come across some dangerous beings and detour the long way. Can the humans accept another native into their society? Will the heroine decide to stay with him and take the epis to survive? Meanwhile the human surviving men are starting to get territorial! Narration was well done.

Alien Mind meets Human Character: awesome

One of my favourite alien romance series, that clearly differs from the usual plots floating around. Great world building with a unique non human psychological profile of the alien species, that develops throughout the series. Lots of unexpected plots with a storyline that keeps you on the edge. Great Romance and steamy sex too. Fluent story flow and great narration.

Jolie & Shavaer.

The first book had a better heroine, this one seems too stupid to live and had a jealousy streak a mile long, but she was supposed to be a genius? She runs off to fix an alien mechanical part, but her job is bioengineer. Too many things run through my head as why, how, and again why? Then doesn’t tell anyone, knowing it’s dangerous. And of course the troupe of alien kidnapping comes into play. Not sure if I will continue, as I already don’t like the next books heroine. And all the humans are a bunch of ungrateful bigots, when they would have all died off without the alien race. I really like the female narrator, the male narrator is good, but the sound is a lot softer, and I have to turn up the volume when he talks.

Not as good as the first book which was mediocre

The first book had promise but fell flat in a few places. This book just got worse. The junior high school language and drama was overdone. There wasn't really much chemistry, it seems like they just all of a sudden jumped into bed together. Then the overdramatic conversations. UGH. He says this will bring back bad memories, she pushes and says how bad can it be? Then when he starts reliving the nightmare, she seems surprised. DUH.

I didn't like the female narrator in the first book and this was just as bad. Just raising your voice or pausing is not dramatic effect. The male narrator was much better.
