About this listen

Alice

My name is Alice, and I live in the Bugpocalypse.

I survived my first post-apocalyptic winter, and spring is here. That’s bad news! With warm weather comes the endless swarms of deadly bugs.

I need to forage for food, but there’s just one little problem. Okay, so “little” isn’t the best word to describe the fierce Xarc’n warrior who is obsessed with me. Kaj’k is freakin’ huge! And his sharp claws, pointy fangs, and massive horns are scary AF.

I reject his gift of food and flowers, but my massively muscled alien hunter doesn’t get the hint. He tosses me over his shoulders and carries me to his shuttle. I expect the worst, but all he does is purr at me.

Kaj’k

I’ve spent my entire life fighting the swarm. Genetically engineered to hunt the scourge across the galaxy, Xarc’n hunters are the ultimate predators. It takes a lot to take one of us down. Then I meet the little human female who brings me to my knees.

My Alice is full of fire, and I have no doubt she can survive on her own. But she’s my mate, and she’s mine to protect. When cannibals and scourge threaten my female, I toss her over my shoulder and carry her to my ship.

Now that I have my mate in my arms, I’m never letting her go!

Narration Perfection

Beyond loving this alien romance about a human & alien warrior escaping loneliness & finding love; I absolutely LOVED the narration for this. I love it when a male & female share the narration on a story, and the people narrating this were absolutely perfect, especially Troy Duran. He had the perfect voice for our Xarc’n warrior. Definitely recommend the story, and even more so, with it coming to life with just the right voices.

Post Apocalyptic Survival Romance

I liked the story when I read it originally and the Audible version is pretty good. Strong smart females dealing with the worst of human men fall for sexy aliens who are utter gentlemen...when appropriate. The narrators could put a little more inflection/energy in the reading otherwise it's a great story.

Cute story

Enjoyed the storyline, although it is like many in this genre. The characters are likable and the narrators did a good job with characters. Glad there are dual narrators to get the voices needed for characters!

Summary
Storyline starts about a women living in a post apocalyptic world. Alien bugs have come to take it over and there hard to kill like a cockroach.
As in any apocalypse, humans act nuts and do dumb shit. She and a family member escaped but not with out trama.
She finds herself a stocker and handles him more than he does her. He follows her home and does his best to proof he’s a good man/alien who can provide.

The main lead characters are great. Strong female who does not bend herself to please a man. The alien knows women are a treasure and will want to make her happy.
Backstory that makes them more understandable.

All together the story was pretty well. I was worried when it was short and that I was wasting my money. That was not the case. You get into the story and it pulls you in. Does not feel cut off or short.
Has a lot of action, funny bits, and of course your romance. They build on the character relationship. The build up on the sexy bits are great. I had some questions about the male parts I did not understand. But I won’t say anything on that. Maybe the next book will give me more lol.

Readers /narrators did a bad ass job. Made a wonderful job and brought the story alive. Pulled you in and made you feel emotions with it.
Will try more from this author. I highly suggest you get.

overall good

i really wished the female narrator would voice all the female lines in the male’s pov chapters and vise versa. i didnt like that the female narrator voiced the ML and that the male narrator voiced the FL, it sounded weird and took me out of the story

If you’re missing IPB

If you’re missing Ice Planet Barbarians I HIGHLY recommend this. Honestly enjoyable and a little silly. Not crazy spicy but a nice light book. Def worth the listen.

Bug-apocalyptic Nightmare

This would be my worst nightmare - to be afraid of the teeny-tiny bugs we currently have on earth, and then have earth be taken over by a giant bug alien scourge. But, the handsome purple warrior desiring to keep me happy and safe would be a nice plus… Alice and Kaj’k have a non-traditional courtship - he “stalks'' her for season, she rebluffs him, he saves her from a bug hoard, etc. I loved Alice’s spunky personality and her perseverance; add in Kaj’k’s swoony instance that Alice’s happiness is paramount. The narration of this story is superb: Troy is amazing as the growly hunky Kaj’k, while Keira brings spine, grit and spunk to Alice. An exciting story to listen to.
