Four dark tales of the holiday spirit.

"Christmas Eve Gift" by C. D. Watson: Old Bill sets out on her annual Christmas Eve journey to her niece's house and encounters an unexpected darkness along the way.

I forgot I already had the Kindle version. The short stories are all written by the same author under different names. I originally bought the book for the Vampyr story since I enjoy that series but was unfamiliar with the others. I'll try not to, but there may be spoilers depending on how much detail you like to know. The narrator does a very nice job.

Dreaming of a Dark Christmas
A woman named Old Bill, (I have no idea why she's named that) walks through the woods and encounters an unexpected adversary. I would have liked a bit more detail at the end, which felt abrupt.

A Dark Christmas
I'm looking forward to the conclusion of the Vampyr series. Gianna was featured more than I cared for in the third book since I found her uninteresting but whatever. This is a side story about one of Elizabit's daughters and doesn't really contribute to the Vampyr universe. A little more resolution at the end would have been nice.

On the 7th Day of Christmas
The story is a little hard to follow if you've never read anything in the series. I don't know who or what Missie (?) is.

Twelfth Night
A disquieting story about a 13-year-old who decides the fate of his abusive father. I have no idea who the woman who appears like a fairy godmother at his bedside is. The story felt like a paranormal mob book.

I loved it! I actually read this book for the Sunshine Walkingstick short story, On the 7th Day of Christmas. I was pleased with the other stories as well. The narration is outstanding! It will keep you entertained! The author does an excellent job with the characters. I can't wait to read more books by this author. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

AWESOME READ!

Anthologies of short stories are always a tough one as not all the stories resonate with everyone. The holiday theming of this as well as the character crossovers to various series make it a great addition to anyone who listens to those series (found some old favorite characters in here) and there are some new ones here as well. Check out the author names and see if you are a fan of the other series and add this to your sets. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

If you’re in for some Christmas tales with twisted stories and get the spot. I didn’t quite know what I was in store for by the time it was over I was wishing they had more stories. It was that good I loved it. I received this on book origins and I’m leaving this review ball entirely. I highly highly recommend this book!

This is a short story collection by Lucy Varna, CD Watson, Celia Roman and VR Comming... Seriously I grabbed the book with the soul intent of listening to Celia Roman's, Sunshine Walkingstick story, as Celia had previously captivated me with everything that is Sunshine's world: the Hollow, her family, and the shrouded legends and mysteries of Appalachia!
Holy gods, was I surprised to find that the entire collection is written by one, single, mystery woman... a woman who writes under several nom de plumes, so of course, I listened to each and every one... how could I not?
No matter what name she uses, she writes with the same magic style that drew me to the "Sunshine" books in the first place, and yes, even the vampire story has love and magic! LOL...
Additionally, there's just no way you'd ever want a better narration than Rebecca's. Her voice performance is quite simply, stellar!
I actually love to celebrate Christmas with stories, and although these are on the dark side, I still loved 'em! Grab the book no matter what time of year and sit back and enjoy... I'm pretty sure you'll be happy you did!!!

Imagine my surprise...

I loved these stories tremendously! I wish they were longer. The narrator was absolutely amazing, I enjoyed listening to all her different accents for the different characters.

This is not a collection of short stories by various authors. It is instead a collection by one author with many pen names. The stories weren't bad and the narrator did a good job. There just wasn't a point where any of them really grabbed me. Some of the stories could be the start to interesting novels. I like the style of writing and would be interested in reading a novel by this author.

This was an interesting range of short stories from the same author under different names. There was only one character that I was familiar with from reading about her previously. The stories were on the dark side but were told around the holiday times. The narrator did a good job with the entire performance. If you need a short read or listen this one should do it for you.

I received a advanced reader copy from Story Origin for an honest review.

Four very short stories from same author with different pen names. I haven't read any of the full length stories related to these shorts. Intro said that was ok. I do feel it would be best, though. All four were creepy. All four different. Entertaining.
The narrator was excellent with all four books. Lots of voices. She added to my experience.
