About this listen

Vibrantly offbeat and utterly original, Lucy Keating's debut novel combines the unconventional romance of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with the sweetness and heart of Jenny Han.

For as long as Alice can remember, she has dreamed of Max. Together they have traveled the world and fallen deliriously, hopelessly in love. Max is the boy of her dreams - and only her dreams. Because he doesn't exist.

But when Alice walks into class on her first day at a new school, there he is. Real Max is nothing like Dream Max. He's stubborn and complicated. And he has a whole life Alice isn't a part of. Getting to know each other in reality isn't as perfect as Alice always hoped.

Alarmingly, when their dreams start to bleed into their waking hours, the pair realize that they might have to put an end to a lifetime of dreaming about each other. But when you fall in love in your dreams, can reality ever be enough?

Such a Sweet Idea!

I read the summary of the book and thought it just couldn't go wrong with such a sweet idea. I love the land of dreams where I can run free with my dream book characters. The actual dreams were the best part of the book for me. The overall story had less of an emotional pull but was finishable. Max in real life was hard for me to want to be friends with or be romantically interested in.

This book was a DREAM!

I loved it and couldn't wait to start listening again. Dreamology was a lovely story with twists and turns and kept me wanting more from the first chapter.

Boring like crazy

When I first heard the premise of the story I was so interested to see how will the relation between Max and Alex proceed after they discover they are real people .. I expected some drama and bit of action .. what I got was a boring story line where everything is so convenient to the main characters they didn't put an effort in anything at all .. everything was moving so fast that I often wondered if I missed something .. one moment Max is being rude to Alice and literally the next moment he is head over heals for her !! nothing about these characters is relateable whatsoever .. the narrator was nice but she lacked some impressions which made the story even slower for me .. she is nice but I guess she didn't have a nice material to work with .. so sad that I didn't like this book because I liked the premise of the story so much
