A rival suitor and a deadly attack are enough to put a damper on any date.

Just when Adina’s social life is looking up, her night out is interrupted by the scream of police sirens. Afraid her bartender boyfriend might be accused of murder, Adina’s neighbor enlists her assistance, and in the process exposes her to the seamier side of illegal immigration and crime in the city.

Hard as she tries to limit her involvement, the more Adina learns, the more she needs to know - until a case of mistaken identity lands her in hot water. Will she uncover the truth before it’s too late?

Dying for Data

Great cozy mystery! Adina has gotten herself in danger in this mystery. She seems to have a knack of unknowingly getting herself into trouble. It seems there is something shady going on. And someone has been murdered. Adina is curious to know why. There’s a little romance in the story and some dogs as well.

Story had several plot twists

I liked this story and the fact that there were plot twists which kept my interest. This book is good for any age as there are no drugs, sex or cursing. This book is a typical cozy mystery as it's easy to listen to. Although it isn't as in depth as some more well known authors, the storyline does have some plot twists and good character development. I agree with another reviewer that there's too many detailed references to decor and/or the type and color of clothes to wear. I don't care about those things, so less is more for me, but I did like the story. The narration was fine except for the fact that sometimes when a narrator is trying to do several voices, there's always one that's what I call a whisper shout, which I don't enjoy hearing. I'd prefer they simply use their own voice rather than something so unnatural. Overall the book is an enjoyable listen and I encourage others to give it a listen.

could have easily been a thriller

I listened to this book. The narrator did a good job except for Matt’s voice was too rasping & I had a hard time paying attention to him. Also, in one chapter there was a lot of noise in the background of the track.

I was glad to see the relationship dilema for Adina resolved by the end of the book. I am not a fan of love triangles.
The accidental kidnapping of Adina was comical in a way but I could feel the terror she must have felt.

I enjoyed the mystery and writing enough to give another book in this series a try.

Enjoying the series

Dying for Data is a clean cozy mystery with likable characters and interesting twists. This is the second book in the series, but could be enjoyed as a stand alone.

Good mystery!

I enjoyed Dying for Data by Cassidy Salem. I like the characters and their progression as the series goes on. I worked in DC and enjoy the descriptions of the locations. The story and mystery is engaging. The narration by Melissa Haley is very good.

Cute story but where's the ending?

I really liked the story but it ended without an ending I feel. Is there something I'm not getting?

Intriguing and Intense Storyline

Dying for Data is a very intense storyline that deals with political and social issues such as illegal immigration, international crime connections, and murder. Who knew that going on a simple dinner date and meeting a friend's boyfriend for the first time could put Adina in the crosshair of a international crime gang. This story may be short but it does pack a lot of educational and informative information about immigration and social politics. Melissa Haley did a great job narrating this story. This is my honest unbiased review.

Adina and the Russians

Dying for Data is book 2 in Cassidy Salem's newest series. This book is an interesting cozy mystery that tackles a serious subject, racism and murder. Bruce and Adina volunteer at a dog rescue. He makes her toes curl and he is easy on the eyes. But, when one of "those people" are murdered, Edina does not like his values. Detective Jonathan might not make Adina's toes curl, but, he is kind, steady and they make a good team. I really enjoyed this audio book. Melissa Haley does a wonderful job as narrator. I can't wait to begin book 3. I received a code for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

A Great Cozy Mystery

This was the second book of the "Adina Donati, Accidental Sleuth" series, and I enjoyed it more than the first one. I liked that the mystery was complex, and that the author included current issues such as immigration and racism. I liked that there was character development. I thought this story was more exciting, and therefore, I was more absorbed into the mystery. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Melissa Haley's narration was slightly better than in the first audiobook. There was the sound of a motor's humming off and on throughout the audiobook, which I found distracting. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
