Publisher's summary

"You want me to tell of how I broke the world."

It's the year 641 since the beginning of everything, and when Eve passes away, she leaves Adam, the only man on earth who remembers everything since they walked in Eden.

When Enoch, God's newly appointed prophet, decides to collect the stories of the faithful from previous generations, he finds Adam in desperate need to confess the dark secrets he's held onto for too long.

Beside a slowly burning bonfire in the dead of night, Adam tells his story in searing detail. From the beginning of life, to how he broke the world, shattered Eve's heart, and watched his family crumble.

Will Enoch uncover what led so many of Adam's children away from God? And will Adam find the redemption and forgiveness he longs for?

"Eden is in a class by itself. It's biblical fiction with an emotional depth that laid my heart bare. Not only does Brennan McPherson vividly describe the first days of human awakening; he also masterfully unmasks sin's effects through the broken relationship of Adam and Eve." (Mesu Andrews, Christy award-winning author of Isaiah's Daughter)

Interesting POV

I liked it, but didn’t love it. The God-Adam relationship struck me as more contractual than filial, and Eve’s perspective was a bit lacking. Otherwise I enjoyed imagining Genesis along with McPherson.

Eden

Thanks for this work of fiction about the first family. I think Christians need to think deeply about scripture, keeping it lofty, while bringing it down to the practical way it was lived out. There are many lessons to be learned from our meditation of scripture, putting ourselves in the roles of those written about and in the situations they lived out. We learn more about our
Lord that way, and about ourselves, as long as we stick with what scripture says.

Amazing!

This was much better than I expected it to be, especially with the author narrating it! It made the beginning of time so much more realistic to me. After the fall Adam and Eve were completely miserable. I caught myself wanting to pray for them! I can't wait to listen to the rest in the series.

I'm stunned at the perspectives this book gives! 💜

All too often we look at creation week, as just a quick set of events that escalated quickly, and there was not much emotion to it! To stumble upon this book, at a time when God is showing me how much He loved us then and loves us now, has made me weep whilst listening to this book!

I am now looking for the rest of this author's works. Well done! God be praised for your labor of love and faithfulness.

Fresh look at Adam and Eve

I really enjoyed the “what If” approach to applying some logical thinking about the most ancient of all Bible stories. A look at how the cursed could have played out between Adam and Eve resonated with me. The narration was also fantastic. Well worth the purchase!

Great story

I love a fictional story that is based on truth and this book does just that. Many times we hear the bible stories but we miss the little pebbles of insight. Mr.McPherson picks up those pebbles and tosses them into the story to create a very plausible situation or outcome.
I also enjoyed that it is written from Adam's point of view. Great job. I am starting Flood as soon as I submit this reveiw.
