About this listen

In the land of Pharaoh, Tuya has always been a slave. As a little girl, she was sold as a playmate to a wealthy child who became her best friend. But as she approaches womanhood, beautiful Tuya is betrayed and cast out. Now she belongs to Potiphar, captain of Pharaoh's guard. Yet her heart is owned by handsome Joseph, sold into slavery by his own brothers. Proud, arrogant Joseph dreams of freedom, of his own household, of Tuya as his queen. Shared dreams will sustain Joseph and Tuya through the deepest of sorrows and most unbearable of separations . . . but is it God's will to make the dream their destiny?

There’s a few times, where I felt the pains of defeat along with the protagonist, but I was happy with the outcome in the end .

The narration and the storyline were excellent

I found this story to be very intense and historically plausible in its timing. The story of the love between Tuya and Yosef, along with Segura's attempts to fulfil prophecy set a perfect stage for the Biblical events. It was beautifully narrated as well. So why did I give the story 4 stars instead of 5...Jer10:2 learn not the way of the heathen. There were a cringe-inducing number of Egyptian chants, prayers and poetry recorded in immense and unnecessary details, exact verbiage too. Often, as people read, they learn occultic ways and thought patterns from books. The poem read in Segura's bedroom was perhaps the "only" time such a display could be deemed necessary and that only because of Segura's secondary purpose. Were Hollywood to make a movie of this book, special emphasis would be made out of those parts alone. Deut12 speaks vehemently that we should not inquire about how those that HE punished..and Egypt is severely punished during the book of Exodus over these very practices... because HE doesn't want us utilizing ANY PART of these abominable ways. Lev18:25, Ezek36:17, Rom8:22 and even Rev3:16 says these "ways" caused the Land itself to become sooo defiled it "vomits out the inhabitants". Rev9:21 speaks to the fact that people will not repent of their sorceries. Angela Hunt, I know you seek to influence others hearts to seek out YAHUAH, but you can describe situations WITHOUT using the ACTUAL VERBIAGE OF INCANTATIONS!! YAHUAH doesn't tell us Not to do something over and over again without reason. I love your writing, used to sell lots of your books when I worked bookstores, so personally introduced lots of readers to your work. Please be careful! When I was much younger books with this kind of detail lead me down a pathway that ABBA had to help me step back away from.

Very Intense

the relationship between Tulia and Pharoah and the realization of Tulia of how that had changed

it's so interesting to imagine the life of people we learn about in the Bible

This audiobook is outstanding in every single way!!! The storyline is spot on! The author, along with one of the best narrators ever, presents that storyline in a way that the listener is compelled to finish without to the very end! Looking forward to the next book in the series!!!

Very good. I love Angela Hunt’s books and this book spoke so vividly. Her care and research makes the time come alive and draws me in as if I’m riding right along with the characters.
I love the story of Joseph and from this book I learned much more than what I felt I knew. The book kept me captured and engaged. Very good writing. I’m embarking on the second today.

I love the way Angela researches historical facts and mingles them in with Bible stories without changing the message.

I loved this story. While it is historical fiction, it made the true accounts and characters of the Bible come to life and from here on out emphasized in my remembrance of that portion of the Bible. I did have a big problem with the narrator from the beginning of this book. Her voices of the characters were pretty good. It was her third person narration of the story that grated on my nerves to the point I wondered if I could finish listening. However, a little more than half way through the book, she either got better, or I became used to it. Whatever the reason, I am so glad I did finish it. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series.
