About this listen

I had one goal: To learn from Sebastian Ryker.

He was an award-winning physician in his field of medicine.

A genius who could diagnose you with the barest of symptoms.

The best of the best.

Too bad he turned out to be an egotistical jerk.

Mere hours into my first day, I realized that the man I had idolized for years didn't live up to the hype.

He was rude, arrogant, and totally full of...himself.

It was clear that my presence bothered him, that I was nothing more than an irritation.

So, why did I want to melt into a puddle whenever those dark eyes were trained on me?

And why didn't I listen when my head warned my heart that he'd break it in two?

I had one goal: To learn from Sebastian Ryker, not fall in love with him.

I have to invest in a lock on the door..

So I saw a friend of mine was listening to this one. I saw it was on AE and I was all over it. Problem I had with the book was the husband and cats coming in every five minutes for dinner. Took me twice as long to read as it should have because the furry beasts were begging for food. The other furry beast (hubby) would not shut up about the weather.

ANYWAYS!

I had heard about this book during a Zoom chat with the writer and one of the narrators, so I had a rough idea what the book was about. It was like Dr. House grew a heart and fell in love. I really loved how everything played out and the narrators both were nice to listen to. Two things I like in a book. Good story, good narration. This book show be read by anyone who likes Hero Club books. If you don't usually read Hero Club, or are new to it, get this one first!

Paging Dr. Stormy

NOLA504NERDS BLOG
Thanks A.K. MacBride for gifting me this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Dr. Sebastian Ryker is an award-winning physician in the diagnostics field. He is deliciously handsome. He’s also grumpy, rude, and arrogant. Dr. Mia Phillips idolizes Sebastian and jumps at the chance to train under him. Mia is strong and talented. She somehow pokes this grumpy bear when she saves a life before her first shift even starts. With his antagonism, she can clearly see how he’s earned the name Dr. Stormy. She refuses to let Dr. Stormy get under her skin. A night out with mutual friends brings to light the attraction between them. Is there more to Dr. Stormy than everyone thinks? Can Mia and Sebastian take a chance on each other without any repercussions?

I’m a huge fan of Grey’s Anatomy. I know Mia is a red head, but I picture her as Dr. Meredith Grey and Sebastian as Dr. Derek Shephard (McDreamy). This book had a Grey’s Anatomy vibe to it that I absolutely adored. Mia and Sebastian both share the same determination and care when it comes to their patients. They also share an undeniable chemistry that they can’t contain. The steam level is a 5! I loved the funny banter between them and with their friends and coworkers. Dr. Stormy turns out to be a romantic sap when it comes to Mia. MacBride’s writing is spot on and flowed beautifully. I didn’t want the story to end. It was light-hearted, romantic, quirky, and passionate.

Summer was perfect as Mia! She perfectly embraced her wit, strength, and caring demeanor. Gregory, as always, is absolutely incredible. His male voice is super sexy! The narration had a great flow while bringing the story to life. Greg and Summer made a great duo, and I would love to hear more from them!

I diagnose this book as a 5-star must read!

Sebastian & Mia!

AK MacBride is a new author to me and so glad I got to listen to this story of hers! Egotistical Jerk is exactly the right description of Dr Sebastian Ryker. One of the the top diagnostic doctors in the country, Mia picked this hospital to learn from him. But from the first day, he treats her different than all the other doctors, and on thing she knows is she isn't going to take it. From there we get the slow burn romance of these two. But we don't only get witty banter and a passion worth the wait. MacBride weaves in the realism of hospital life. Getting to know patients, and the emotional turmoil it can create is front and center, giving us all the feels. You can feel the ups when its a good day and the unbearable grief of the bad. I love her writing style and can't wait to see what else she has out in audio.

Narrated by Summer Roberts and Gregory Salinas, I knew I was in for a treat. Roberts is fantastic, always in tune with her characters and she portrays Mia exactly as I envision. Salinas masterfully becomes Sebastian, keeping the gruffness up all while having that slow burn beginning to flame. And he also has an amazing English accent for Sebastian's best friend! It's a great listen with an incredible team.

Didn't see the Ego

I didn't really get the ego in Sabastain. Just felt the two met and instantly fell in love. Other than the fact that she was just an intendee not too much angst in the book.

House but with Emotions

WOW... This was such a great book! The characters were very dynamic and fun. Sebastian is a genius diagnostician who uses his brains and doesn't always have the best social skills. But he meets his match in Mia who has thought of him as her hero for years. But she is quickly disappointed when he starts treating her awful, although she doesn't know the whole story.

This is a super fun, witty, well written short story that pulls you in and doesn't let you out until the end. Plus there is a fabulous cat, always a win in my book!

Gregory and Summer do an amazing job narrating this book, they lent their voices to 2 characters and truly brought them to life. I would love to listen to another book narrated by either one of them!

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good doctor romance!

Just what the doctor ordered

I've been listening to a really heavy audiobook lately and this story was a much needed break from all the angst. It usually takes me weeks to get through an audiobook but this fast paced story had me finished in two days.
The writing was beautiful and the story so sweet and as for the performances, the narrators really brought this story to life.
I've always been an AK MacBride fan but hearing her words on audio was an absolute gift. Loved it!!!

More than a job:)

This was my first book by the author. I had previously read Dear Bridget so I was excited to read a book in their story. Sebastian & Mia did not disappoint. I loved how they fed off of each other’s energy. Whether they were fighting or learning from each other they were passionate about it. Mia definitely got more than the job she wanted❤️ #audiobookobsessionreviewer
