Publisher's summary

From what we know of history, Egypt, along with Sumer, were the foundations of civilization. The Fertile Crescent, which stretched from the Nile Valley to the twin rivers in Mesopotamia, gave us our earliest glimpse of organized man. But organized how? For one, both locations gave us writing - hieroglyphics in Egypt and cuneiform in Sumer. There is still some debate about who was first.

In this audiobook, we will start by looking at the gods and goddesses of Kemet - Ancient Egypt. Then, we will turn our attention to the monsters which likely gave them nightmares and humbled them in their quest to bring order to the world around them. Finally, we will look at the mortals which shaped their civilization and made Egypt the bedrock of our own history. Though Egypt today is only a third-world nation, struggling with terrorism and poverty, their heritage remains vital to the understanding of who we are as a species.

A Brief History

Any additional comments?

A brief history of ancient Egypt but I didn't get how the gods tided into incidents of the days. I still liked it though.

The book can serve you if you want comprehensive information about ancient Kemet. Egyptian mythology will help anyone that needs to know the Kemetian deities, which are real energies. The author also shows the energies in a way that benefits the metaphysical mind. I enjoyed it.

Packed With Good Information

Any additional comments?

This is a nice introduction to the Egyptian Mythology. The way this book is represented is really cool. It is described as a story but yet broken into sections of the different Gods/Goddesses. It is fun to read the Egyptian Myths of creation, and also learn about each deity individually.

Egyptian Mythology

Any additional comments?

Great book for people just beginning their interest in Egyptian mythology. My daughter loves it! She has a liking for mythology and is always looking up information online and in books and now she has a book she says is better than what she can find in her library at school.

A Good Introduction

Any additional comments?

This book is a good introduction to Egyptian mythology, and I completely enjoyed it. It covers different stories, each about a different god, that tell the story from the gods' point a view. The Narrator has done a good job as well.

A Brief Explanation

This book has given a brief explanation of the major gods of ancient Egypt and some of their stories. It was an easy read that gave me just enough background to prepare me for a more serious study of ancient Egypt.

Fascinating

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no.

Any additional comments?

While I wish they used Egyptian rubrics for the artistic depictions, it does a good job of presenting Egyptian mythology without being so much over. I love that they use the Egyptian names instead of the Greek, as well.
