About this listen

Writer and director Bill Myers has won over 40 national and international awards and sold more than four million copies of his books and videos worldwide. In Eli, he creates a fascinating scenario that reaches to the heart of Christian faith.

When Conrad Davis crashes his car, he should be dead. Instead, he finds himself in a parallel universe with a single difference from ours - Jesus Christ did not come 2000 years ago! Conrad finds himself in the midst of events surrounding a man named Eli - events that carry strong contemporary echoes of the life of Jesus.

Following Eli, Conrad is challenged to accept what he witnesses, just as Christ’s apostles must have been challenged. Eli gives a unique twist to a question many people have asked themselves over the past two millennia: How would I react if I lived in the time of Jesus? Richard Ferrone’s thoughtful narration captures the true conflict of a man’s struggle with the decision to give his life over to Christ.

most enjpyable

I flooded the story well. It didn't end as I thought it might, but the ending made sense, too. Grateful Bill Myers wrote the book.

inspirational

I am so glad I took a chance on this book. although not the traditional Gospel of Jesus, the story of Eli follows close behind. a work of fiction, yes. the Bible however is not. the characters are well thought out, and the story flow is amazing. it brought me to a new level of my faith

very nice story

it was a good story but I did not like how it ended.
All that waiting with him in the hospital and then it didn't end like I hoped.

Interesting approach to sharing the Gospel

Would you consider the audio edition of Eli to be better than the print version?

As with all audio books, the narrator adds his own "tone" to this book. I'm not sure I would interpreted some the scenes the way the narrator did, but it was good, none the less.

What did you like best about this story?

Shared the life of Jesus in a way that relates to the 21st Century without compromising the message as it appears in the Bible.

What does Richard Ferrone bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His interpretation of the emotions behind the story.

If you could take any character from Eli out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I would have to say Julia. She is the character that seemed to need encouragement!

Any additional comments?

This book was very well written and presents a interesting approach to sharing the Gospel of Jesus. I'm considering sharing this book with a young woman who is seeking to know Jesus.

In My Top 10

This is one of my favorite novels of all-time. A beautiful story that really presses the claims of the Nazarene & our choice to reject or receive Him. Loved it!

Worthy of Reflection for Life

Beautifully written. It was very unpredictable. When you read a book, one of the things you experience is placing yourself in a familiar situation. This book has that added 3D affect.
