The line between their world and ours is thinner than we think....

The sleepy, eastern Washington wheat town of Antioch has become a gateway for the supernatural - from sightings of angels and a weeping crucifix to a self-proclaimed prophet with an astounding message.

The national media and the curious all flock to the little town - a great boon for local business but not for Travis Jordan. The burned-out former pastor has been trying to hide his past in Antioch. Now the whole world is headed to his backyard to find the Messiah, and in the process, every spiritual assumption he has ever held will be challenged. The startling secret behind this visitation ultimately pushes one man into a supernatural confrontation that has eternal consequences.

I’m the same age of the characters went to a Christian college so much of the book brought back sweet memories. I’ve never been to a Pentecostal church service before but grew up with many who did. I can tell the writer is a Christian. The story is wonderfully written with the character development woven skillfully throughout. Great read for those who understand the battle and the enemy we all fight.

For those who know the battle for souls.

Very good book about false prophets and false messiahs. We know that Jesus will come the way it is prophesied in the Bible.

Great book

Thank you Jesus for the announcing in this text and to Mr. Peretti for your Obidiance.
As someone that was born into the gift of spiritual decernment, your writing illistrates what has often made me appear a mad women to my peers. Both Christian and not. often being accused of witchcraft when I was only working under an anointing I did not ask for.
While I realize that this story is of course a work of fiction, it hit so close to home for me. I grew up in a Pentecostal church and home. I understand the brokenness that is associated with Dogmatic law (and it's means of deception) As well as those who see themselves to be the "enforcers" of that law. I know the bitterness that comes with the scars. Unlike Justin in the story, I found my way back to the cross and to Jesus, but I identified with both he and Travis in this story. If one suffers the same Bitterness then this is a must read.

How easily people can be embittered

Excellent. Story follows a Needful Things-esque story arch where the townsfolk are taken for a ride by a supernaturally bad apple. Love this archetype because it's a good reminder that people are often scarier than monsters, and that many of us are holding on to civility by a thread.

This was my first book by this author and I'm looking forward to reading more.

This book overall is excellent. It's got everything you look for in Christian fiction. It's rooted in Christian life, but has a nice story to follow. However, it goes off the rails a bit as it goes along. It's not that it's dated so much, as just hard to follow. It flashes from present to past tense in a most confusing way. The past storyline is lovely, and then when it abruptly switches to present tense it is jolting. And the bizarreries with the "messiah" figure just go on too long, but not terribly so. Tom Taylorson's narration is excellent. Overall, it's very good.

Amazing as usual. Everything he writes is awesome. It is really great to find Christian fiction that is both entertaining and realistic.
