About this listen

Matthew Caldwell is NYC's most eligible bachelor.

Charming.

Gorgeous.

Wealthy.

Great with kids.

Broken.

Sixteen years ago, he lost everything. He made a vow to never love again. But suddenly everyone in his life is acting like a matchmaker. He can't help but wonder if a broken vow is better than a broken heart.

There's just one problem. Only one woman in the city has caught his attention. And it's the only woman he can't have.

I confess that I read Runaway and Homecoming before I read this book. It just isn’t as good and it jumps all over the place.

My least favorite so far.

I’m rooting for Matt and Kennedy in book five. Please stop with Penny and James already. Focus on Matt and Kennedy on book 5 please

Team Kennedy!!!!

Love the whole Empire High books. Cannot wait for the 8th installment. It does have a cliffhanger and is not mentioned. I think it is something that should have been said.

Matt’s only book

What just happened. the ending is wilded. I can't believe how it ended. Now I will either have to wait in tell may or buy the next book.

The storyline is amazing. It is such a great basis to only be ruined by the over explaining by the author. She either doesn't trust herself enough to feel confident that her readers know what she's writing about or she doesn't trust her readers enough to understand they are smart enough to grasp the points she's making. Either way, there is so much... TOO MUCH time wasted on the author, making sure you understand the point. Example: Whenever she's trying to explain how a character is feeling, she will use an entire chapter explaining it. If she is telling the reader that Brooklyn felt sad, she will say she was sad in 15 different sentences using 15 different adjectives. Sad, down, gloomy, unhappy, sorrowful, and on and on and on. We get it! she's sad! So there's a whole lot of sentences saying a whole lot of the same thing in different ways. I'm not sure if she's just trying to fill pages, if she's not confident in her writing, not confident in the ability of her readers, or just unaware of doing this. But it's something she's done in every single book that I have read of hers. It's very annoying. It's a shame that she does this because her storylines are so creative, but she destroys it with this writing style. PLEASE PLEASE stop over explaining what you are writing about! Your readers are all past elementary school reading levels. so we don't need you to draw the picture, then paint it, and then point out every single line. Just draw the picture and trust that your readers are smart enough to color it!

Could be such a great series if.......

Ivy is a great writer so even though this book didn't go the way I hoped it would I'm confident that she will keep us going on an emotional rollercoaster with lots of laughs mixed in. I couldn't stop listening.
