About this listen

Hailey

He's still in love with his ex, and I refuse to be a consolation prize. So why did I just agree to a spur-of-the-moment road trip with him? I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm doing this for me. It has nothing to do with the gorgeous man staring at me like I'm a crazy person.

Tyler

Why is she climbing into my car uninvited? I don't care how sweet her smile is - or how long her legs are. This isn't some aimless summer road trip. But I can tell from the way she's looking at me that she knows the truth. I'm not driving toward something. I'm driving away from something...from someone.

A touching story

While I listened to this book out of order, I was still able to follow along with the plot and the characters and enjoy the overall book. I was surprised at how emotional this book was and how easily I got wrapped up in the characters.

Great narration by Vanessa Edwin and Connor Crais, they brought the story to life!

Performance

When the male narrator try to sound like a female it takes away from the whole masculinity of the character that has been built up. I’m just not a fan of that. Please no hate mail...I love the story not the performance.

Gotta love fate!

I’m so glad we get Tyler’s book! This is such an amazing series! Who would think that while running away from someone you love, you could find the real missing piece of your heart?
Man, this book was emotional! I’ve definitely come to expect that from Ivy Smoak, but whew, this was a doozy. It was fun and cheeky and lighthearted at times, but the family drama and emotional roller coaster both Tyler and Hailey were on was rough.
And wouldn’t you think if you were traveling with someone you’d at least exchange phone numbers? Glad it worked out the way it did, but it was a bumpy ride.
And I just can’t gush enough about Vanessa Edwin and Connor Crais! They have both become two of my very favorite narrators. They both bring out all the angst and joy and sadness and love and hope in these characters. Masterful job!

Wish I would have read this one instead

The female narrator whispers half the time and draws out her esses. It was very distracting. The story was cute. I just wish I read this one instead of getting the audiobook.

Tyler & Hailey

This was my first book by Ivy Smoak & I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure how realistic it is for strangers to drive cross country together, but hey this is fiction, and I liked the characters. The story drew me in quickly, was funny but also heartbreaking, & hopeful as they found the healing & love they needed in each other. The narration was performed by Connor Crais & Vanessa Edwin. (They're one of my favorite duos and the reason I bought the audiobook!) As expected, they were terrific in bringing Ivy's story and characters to life. Their voices are so expressive and the listener feels everything -- joy, excitement, hope, love, relief, self doubt, disappointment, worry, pain, & everything in between!
☆☆☆Special note: If you're a fan of Connor Crais, you probably have heard him sing in other audios. Have you heard him sing as the mfc/heroine??? Check out chapters 11, 32, and 64. Enjoy!

Beautifully frustrating

I almost gave this 5 stars. The story was beautiful. I cried, laughed and everything in between. The narration was awesome. My frustrations:
1. All this time spent together and they didn't even exchange phone numbers, yet he gave her his life savings
2. Tyler allowing Hailey to drone on and on and didn’t even try to explain to her -in person- why he went MIA
3. Hailey getting mad every 5 minutes

Sorry, but I wanted to slap Hailey quite a few times. In the end I almost wish Tyler would just find him someone else, someone more mature. Fortunately my annoyance with Hailey came towards the end of the book, it’s like Ivy wanted to drag the book out by creating unnecessary drama, it made the ending anticlimax. This was still an overall good book and I don’t regret spending the credit.

The Puzzle is Complete!

I have waited so long for this book to be turned into audiobook form. Vanessa and Connor do such an excellent job bringing two of my favorite characters to life. They know how to capture the emotions of Hailey and Tyler and I literally cried during some scenes. Ivy chose two of the best actors to bring this book to life.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I was #teamTyler from the “Hunted Series” by Ivy Smoak. I wanted Penny to end up with Tyler because I wasn’t a fan of James. I am so glad that Ivy gave Tyler his own story. If I wasn’t a fan of Tyler (which, of course, is not the case), I’m in love with him even more after listening this book. I can even see why he and Penny would not have been good together. I love Hailey, and I’m extremely jealous of her. I want to have Tyler’s baby. 😂

Ivy knows how to tug at the heartstrings. You get a glimpse of the pain that Tyler has felt through all the incidents in his life. Hailey is another broken person. You root for them because they fit so well together. It’s a perfect title for the book, “Missing Pieces”. They were the puzzle piece for each other to complete picture of their lives.

Oh, my heart. I ❤️ Tyler!

Uninteresting. Unrealistic storyline.

Characters lacked depth. Storyline was weak. Lacked reason and continuity. Couldn't finish. Narration was great though.

Get help not a significant other

How can people so insecure and emotionally unstable ever have a strong relationship? Get healthy!!! Also, they were apart for 1 week and she wrote a dozen letters to CA, got them back, and expected return letters....ALL WHILE HE WAS IN BASIC!!!!! In the real world they would have maybe just made it to CA and she would be lucky to get a couple letters from him the entire time. Too much whining and neediness.
