A great listen

Listening to this really shifted my perspective on how I approach parenting and child development.
What I found especially valuable were the fun, engaging activities suggested throughout the book. These are real techniques that can be implemented with kids of various ages. I also loved that the audiobook emphasizes culturally diverse activities, showing how different play styles can be integrated to support each child’s unique emotional and psychological needs.
The real beauty of this audiobook is how it combines both theory and practical application. I feel more equipped now to support a child’s emotional growth in a way that feels natural and fun. It’s a great resource for parents, caregivers, or anyone involved in children's mental health, and it provides a much-needed perspective on the power of play for emotional resilience and confidence-building.

All parents should listen

I didn't realize how important play is for children, and how a parent can take advantage of the chilld's play to learn more about the child, especially if adopting a new child (not your own). I feel all parents should know this information.

Fantastic topic, well-rounded & inclusive guidance

As someone who grew up with an early childhood educator in the house (my mom), play was a super important part of my childhood, and it's made me a better person, without a doubt. In today's world, I fear children are too often stuck behind screens, not developing social skills, emotional intelligence, and the confidence they need to become well-rounded people. For these reasons, I appreciate this book so much. It's a timely topic, and an important one, too! This was a pleasure to listen to, and I really enjoyed the accompanying PDF, rich with ideas as to how to bring play into your child's life.

I also appreciated the book's emphasis on cultural sensitivity and inclusivity, after all, "play" could look a lot different depending on your cultural background. This book goes beyond the generic to provide tailored activities and ideas that reflect the diversity of our society; I like how every child matters to the author.

Another thing that I thought was fantastic is the author's use of case studies and real-world examples--these really help bring the topic home, so to speak. And, if you're a super busy person like me, this book addresses that too by providing tips specifically catered to busy parents who may find it easier to stick their child behind a screen, but really need to be incorporating play into their daily routine!

This is a great resource!

Perfect for Bonding with Kids

I got this for my little cousin, and it’s been such a helpful resource. The activities are simple to set up, and we’ve both been having a lot of fun while working through them together. It’s amazing to see how play can help build confidence and encourage positive behaviors. I also love that the suggestions are inclusive, making it feel like it’s designed for every child. My cousin has been so much more expressive and engaged since we started.

A Fun and Practical Guide for Helping Kids Grow

This book was such a great resource for making playtime more meaningful! I loved how it included culturally diverse activities, which made it easier to find strategies that fit different backgrounds and personalities. One of the most helpful sections for me was about balancing screen time with physical play—something I know a lot of parents struggle with. I shared a few of the confidence-boosting activities with a friend who works with kids, and she said they worked wonders. If you’re a parent, teacher, or therapist looking for simple ways to help kids build resilience and confidence, this is a must-read!
