These stories are from another time. My kids love listening to them while splayed out on our deck in the summer. This is a varied collection with everything from stories of beach trips to fairies in the forest to kids having adventures in countryside villages to talking animals. All sorts of characters and set ups, and some moral lessons to boot.

Varied, interesting yet calmly-paced stories — my kids love them

What does Jilly Bond bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

When I listen to this book, I really like the voices.

Whenever someone whispers in the story this narrator whispers too so silently that you can't hear what is being said. Even if no one is whispering the narrator tends to lower her voice a lot, almost to a whisper, which makes it hard to understand her. I had to slow the speed down a little too. I don't like the narration.
