Publisher's summary

Exodus is the second book in the Last Days Trilogy.

Following his successful experiment of extracting DNA to clone the image upon the Shroud of Turin, Dr. Marcus Leon faces a world torn asunder.

The clone takes the name Devante and assumes a role of great power. His presence and deception bring about biblical-like destruction upon the Earth.

While Devante seems unstoppable, only one person, his creator, Marcus Leon, holds the key to ending it all. But can Marcus survive not only the forces of nature, but the forces of Devante and build the army needed before it’s too late?

Interesting listen Mixing science and religion

What made the experience of listening to Exodus: Book Two: Last Days Trilogy the most enjoyable?

The mixture of science and religion. cloning is a reality. Can a human entirely be cloned for DNA? Hmm

What other book might you compare Exodus: Book Two: Last Days Trilogy to and why?

Jurassic Park. There was a movie that was similar but I believe it was written from a screen play

Which scene was your favorite?

One of the Characters Marcus fully realizes what he has done by creating Devante. One of those Oh No moments

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was overall tense and exciting what would happen next??? Who would win Good vs Evil a lot of thinking about where we are headed and if science crosses lines that maybe best not crossed

Any additional comments?

I highly suggest starting with book 1. Some books one can start with the second book and pick it up. This series one is best to read the first book. A lot of details would be lost otherwise

I was given the book to review by the author . The opinions are mine alone after reading Book 2 in the series

New approach to "End of World" story

Would you listen to Exodus: Book Two: Last Days Trilogy again? Why?

No; I seldom listen or read the same book multiple times.

What did you like best about this story?

The way the story goes on without you being able to guess where it is leading.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Marcus and Reggie finally realize their need for each other.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not; but the book made me feel the humor of it.

Any additional comments?

This book was provided free in expectation of a review. I have enjoyed both book one and book two. The story is very well written and flows smoothly. This is a very different approach to telling the story of how the world ends. It does not move in a manner I would have expected. I have enjoyed the adventures of this young couple as they move through the issues involved in survival and their struggle to try to save the world.

The narration in outstanding. The multiple voices for each person and how well they are done is unusual. I can hear the humor in the way they are done and the quality is very understandable.

Awesome!

This biblically apocalyptic series is awesome! I highly suggest listening to book 1 first. Dr Marcus Leon extracted DNA from the Shroud of Turin in book 1 in attempt to clone Christ. The cloning was successful, but it wasn't Christ. Devante is the anti-christ and he is ready to bring the end of days for mankind. I can't wait for book 3! Great narration by Rick Gregory!

Second Coming Part II

Enjoyed this story a lot more than the first one. Since the first book was essentially a buildup to this book we get a lot more action and no slow roll. The first book abruptly ended, as does this one, so make sure that you read the first one before you start this one.

We finally are getting closer to the end of the world. Split between those who believe in Devante and those who oppose him. Both sides get ready for battle and a surprise guest shows up to lead Marcus and Reggie into battle. If they make a movie about this I think Paul Bettany should play this role.

Starting to like Marcus more but Kyle is still probably my favorite next to Devante. I really like how Devante, not being from this century, doesn't know how modern things work. Michael is a dick. It is really annoying how Michael, not being from this century, has no idea how modern things work, including words, people, relationships, showers, etc. Reggie is going to become the savior? Can't wait for book 3.

Rick Gregory does another great performance.

Exodus 2

This 2nd in a series was slow.Rick Gregory did a good job with the voisces BUT as annoying as they were written to be,annoyed me.It seemed everyone in the story was irritated or worse with each other.A cloned Messiah is preparing for the last battle for Earth. He has gained some support along the way,but not everyone is on his side.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

I NEED the next book!

Exodus continues the weirdness started in Last Days, when Marcus accidentally cloned the Antichrist. It follows the stories of the true believers and the people who know Devante is the deceiver. Nice job by the narrator.

A thoroughly enjoyable intricate story!

This book was a delightful surprise to me as I was expecting a stronger religious tone to the book. The premise is an interesting concept and the story delivers an engaging listen/read with some surprises and a lot of humour. The characters are thoroughly developed and you quickly feel engaged with them. The relationships between characters feel real and the bond between Marcus and Reggie is especially poignant.

The narration was of a high standard with each character being distinct and identifiable, I personally loved the sound of Devante and think that it captured the essence of the character.

This book is the second in the series and without having read/listened to the first I cannot comment how it fits in overall. I will say that as a standalone it gives you plenty of background to be able to follow the story if not answer all of the questions I may have.
If like my Father you dislike religious based books I think this is not your normal fire and brimstone book (despite there being some of that) and tackles the subject with equal parts brevity and humour giving a very emotional feel to the book.
I will be placing this series on my list to finish.

Great second book!

Having loved book 1, I eagerly dived into this when I got it. Moving on from book 1 and the birth of the Antichrist, Devante, things are really starting to heat up. People are flocking to believe Devante and after he shows some of his power, they have no choice but to comply with him or die! Meanwhile Marcus and Reggie have their own hands full when they get a present from God.

As I said, I loved book 1 and couldn't wait to start this one, and boy was I happy with it!! The plot is really starting to come together. Things are about to come to a head and there seems to only be a handful of people who can stop it, namely Marcus, since he created Devante, and Reggie, who is about to become a kick ass warrior! Devante is making his army and any one who opposes him is dead!! The plot was fast paced and intense.

In all, this was a great second book. I felt my anticipation rising as the plot progressed and I know that the final book will be epic. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Rick Gregory read this really well. His tones and cadences were great and helped create the atmosphere needed for this book. He gave each of the characters their own personality and was able to bring them to life. I really like his portrayal of Devante!!

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts

Not my cup of tea

This is the second installment of the Last Days Trilogy, where a scientist extracts DNA from the shroud of Christ with the purpose of cloning and research. This second part is about how Devante, this second Christ, plans to dominate the world.

I had my troubles with the first book, so I suspected that things were not going to improve for me on this one. Apart from the religious stuff, Devante turns out to be more a devil than a God. I found the story confusing and I was not too invested in it. I guess the book could work for those into demoniac stuff, but it’s just not my case.

Rick Gregory’s narration was adequate, with good character interpretations and a good pace. There were some noticeable audio edits that were a bit distracting, but it was still easy to follow the story.

I won’t be continuing with this series, as the second book didn’t succeed in picking my curiosity after the first one.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
