No Actual Information Given

There was nothing in this book that was actual information. The author's, who can't even provide their real name to stand by their words, step-by-step guide is basic common sense. He or she doesn't go into any details or specifics. For example, one of the initial steps is to find the mall that is best for you. Wow! What a revelation! I was gonna find the mall that was mediocre at best for me. How about what to look for? How about having the person write a list of what they envision is their ideal mall? The only tip was that the mall be in the center of town?! I can think of a lot of Malls that are successful and not in the center of town. The author did not go deep enough. The author did not even dive into the water. So many other things you need to look at to see if it as fit. Do you like the vibe? Are the other dealers selling similar items or will you be the odd duck? Can you abide by the rules? My mall is nothing younger than 1969, everything must work, no damage allowed, no "as is" items, you must know what your items are. Lots of dealers at other malls would not be able to follow those guidelines.,

The three modes of procuring inventory were basic to a fault. Buy it from someone else. Use your own. Combo of both. Seriously? Those are the three business models? Providing a list of locations to get your inventory helps the reader not at all. If someone can't figure out you go to estate sales, thrift stores and garage sales, then they need more then this book. Going to those places do not help you at all unless you developed your nice and knowledge base. That's the biggest barrier to entry. So how does someone go about doing that? Not touched on at all.

Finances are also not touched on. Getting your business license. Paying taxes on the income you make from the mall. The mall is going to declare your sales to the government so you better be prepared for tax time.

This book was the pitch for the book that goes into more depth. Here's what I'm going to talk about in each chapter. Now, where's the book where you actually talk about those topics.

Meh

This book is for someone who has absolutely ZERO clue what they are doing. I really didn’t learn anything out of this whatsoever and I JUST opened my booth this weekend with no prior knowledge of the business, other than my interest in antiques. I’m kind of upset that I wasted a credit for 30 mins of knowledge I already had.
The narrator reads the story really awkwardly as well, so it feels like you’re being lectured on a pre-recorded class, rather than listening to a discussion or advice from a friend. Don’t waste your money.

Outdated & Vague

I did not look at the date this book was published before purchasing, after listening to it I am shocked that it was published in 2015. This book stated the obvious and most basic information related to operating an antique booth. Written for older people who don’t know how to use a computer or social media.
