About this listen

From NYT and USA Today bestselling mystery author Cheryl Bradshaw:

Something unusual is happening to Quinn Montgomery. Trapped inside her unconscious mind, the sound of her father's soothing voice seeps through, and the past 24 hours come flooding back. She wakes to find herself in the hospital. Her childhood best friend Evie is dead. But not just dead, murdered, and Evie's four-year-old son witnessed it all. Traumatized over what he saw, he's not talking. And when Evie's cold-blooded killer goes into hiding, Quinn isn't only out for justice, she's out for revenge.

Romance or Murder ?

Not bad but the book seemed like it couldn't decide whether it was going to be a romance or murder mystery.

Excellent read

I have read a lot of romance novels some okay some mediocre, I thought this one was great, some predictably but pacing was good and the protagonist was likable and the characters were believable almost wanted a little more in the end, enjoyable
Thanks

loved it

This has a lot of twists and turns, the killer is a surprised, I never got it worked out until the author gives you the person, I thought I had it a few times only to find out I was wrong. This is an author that knows how to keep your attention giving you a listen you don't want to put down with wonderful characters and a few you won't care to much for. The grandmother is something else, she is s spitfire that really adds to the story. My heart broken for the little boy. There are a few chills and a few shocks that keep you on your toes. I found this highly entertaining and will be buying more from this author.

The narrator did a good job, there are two places she repeats words, but be sides that she does a great job. There are no volume changes, no background noise, the characters voices are good as well as the emotions she makes you feel. I always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. She makes you dislike the ones the author wants you to, and like the ones that you are suppose to as well as a twists that has you reeling not knowing what to feel but in the end you will end up liking this person.

Hoped for something more

I was disappointed in the story line as well as the narrator.

The story seemed rushed at the end ... trying to wrap everything up. The main female character was not believable in her actions and the narrator did not help this. Even though Quinn was supposed to be going through muliplr

An easy going mystery but still good.

To be brutally honest, this is a romance with a murder excuse. It’s not bad at all, I enjoyed it, but be aware that if you’re looking for a gritty, deep murder-mystery, this isn’t it.

There’s a very decent and believable romance relationship at it’s core, and it’s actually very good but it definitely feels like it’s the reason the book exists, rather than a sub-plot.

The mystery itself is not exactly impressive, but it’s a story that’s more about relationships and characters, rather than an intense mystery, and those are done pretty well.

The reader is good – there are times she’s a bit stiff but for the character voices, she does noticeably much better and some are very good indeed.

This is a solid enough book, it's never going to be called brilliant but it's enjoyable and the characters believable, so I'd still recommend it if you're looking for something that's good, light and easy reading. The romance storyline stands up very well, and is definitely a highlight. It’s not what I’d usually give a 4 out of 5 in terms of quality, but I had a good time with it: it didn’t irritate or bore me anywhere, I liked the characters and the romance so I’m still giving it a 4. I'd say definitely buy it at a discount.

I do not like this author (sorry its personal)

I was hopping this book would pick up the pace, but it never did. The author and I made an informal agreement, so I kept listening. Then came chapter 31. That is where I stopped listening. My daughter, who is not single with a daughter, bought a smallish mobile home. I take pride in my daughter because she is making sound decisions to keep her head above the waters. The author of any book that gives the people who read their writing a glimpse what is in their heads. I saw moldy, mental poison spewing out of the authors head and I do not like it one bit. The author just comes off as a stuck-up, holier-than-thou bitch. Now for the obligatory: "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review." "I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.”
