Fun interesting book

Quick read. Good characters. Death, magic, intrigue, pain, loss, unicorn, fae. One girl, as a hunter for the town, trying to save the land from evil fae and rescuing her father, his friend and sister. Before her luck runs out. Listened through Audible. The voice of this narration was a good fit for this story. So much adventure. Worth reading.

So Very, Very Fae

I love this story! It’s so good! It has all the best, most devious parts of the Fae world in it. (Personally, I wouldn’t make it 30 seconds in the land of fairies). Not to mention, it’s nonstop. From beginning to end there is action, and very engaging character development. There isn’t a single boring moment where you want to skip ahead to get “to the good part”, because it’s all delightful. Even better, it’s a quick read and a pretty short listen for those who have short attention spans.

The narration is excellent. I love Caitlin Kelly, who you may recognize from The Cruel Prince audio (equally delightful). Highly recommend, definitely worth your audible credits.

Great start!!

Dive into the world of Fae and see what happens when the Fae world crashes into a quaint little village. The story follows Allie, who is training to be a hunter. She follows her twin sister where they dance and open the door to the Fae world...leaving Allie, the hunter in training trying to right the wrongs she did.
It was a whirlwind, and the pace was good.
There are games, that Allie must learn and be clever then the Fae if she wants to survive. But can she survive? Pick up the book to find out!!

I listened to the audiobook and I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator. I felt like the narrator did a fabulous job portraying all of the characters. She certainly brought the book alive for me.

A Old Take On Fae

This was a very interesting and original story . Allie is a underdog heroine that you love to root for . While I have mixed feelings about all of the other characters ,Allie makes it worthwhile . I would love to see what happens next !

A dark and twisty delight

A charming and deliciously deceptive fae meets a hunter heroine worth her salt in this captivating and uncommon battle behind the veil. Clean YA wonderfully narrated by Caitlin Kelly. An exceptional start to a binge worthy series. I can’t wait for more!

Fabulous Narrator to Match a Wonderfully Fae Story

I want to take a moment to state that this type of fae is very appealing to me. It’s not your Disney, sugary sweet kind of fairy. It’s more like the Irish faerie tales from history that show how proud, crafty, and non-human they are. It really works for my love of dark, dangerous men that normally become a love interest at some point.

This story does a great job using that archetype for fae and asking what makes a monster. And why does being different make you the enemy. I liked this subtle undertone that carried throughout. It wasn’t overly in-your-face with the commentary, just flowed naturally based on the characters and the situation. And I liked the characterizations. The author did a great job with a large secondary cast without bogging down the story.

Loved the narrator for this one. She did a great job adding inflection and character to each voice. That lent gravity to the dark tones and felt just right for the tone of the story.

My small complaint would be that there were some dialogues that seemed to go a little too long. Those instances felt like the characters were looping around their point too long. It kinda killed the build up for the next reveal. But it really didn’t detract from my enjoyment that much.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes the darker side of fae. Or if you enjoyed Peadar O’Guilin’s The Call. This book shared many similar traits to the things I liked about it. Definitely check them both out!

Loved this

I had no idea what to expect when I received this. What I didn't expect was to feel all ranges of emotions. I laughed. I yelled. I loved Allie and hated almost everyone else but in the best possible ways. Scovrel I loved even when I shouldn't have. Caitlin Kelly outdid herself narrating this book. I didn't just read this story I felt a part of it. The final betrayal though not surprising still surprised me. Read this book, you want be disappointed and be glad like me that you don't have to wait for the next one.

Loved it

This was a great story. Allie seems to get blamed for everything by the town. Her sister however always seemed to get what she wanted because she was beautiful. I was not surprised the fae took her. I could see the little bits of darkness in her from Allie"s memories of her. Her little pet fae that was caged turned out to be an evil creature as well. All the fae were dark & evil. I can't wait for book 2. if you like faires & fae I recommend this book.
