Publisher's summary

A sweet historical western romance: Daisy Weathers travels to Texas as a mail order bride. The would-be groom takes one look at her scarred face and walks away without her knowing. Finding out she’d been jilted, Daisy is humiliated and despondent. There would be no second chance wedding for her.

Sterling, a handsome cowboy is rolled out of the back of a wagon and left. He’s been injured and now it’s life or death. Since the end of the Civil war he’s been busy trying to keep his outlaw brother from hanging. Now when it’s almost too late he wishes he had found a wife, settled down and had children.

In this historical christian mail-order bride novel, Daisy is penniless and works to help Sterling heal. Trouble finds her which sends them both on a journey of the heart, doubts, mishaps, and realization.

A Journey of Healing

There is so much I want to say about this book, but it really applies to all of Kathleen Ball's stories. This one especially touched me. I think we have all felt not good enough at times in our lives although we are all the same and loved in God's eyes.
This is the journey of Daisy Weathers, a very compassionate person who's only fault is that she saved people during the small pox epidemic but survived herself. She ended up with scars on her fax and everyone shunned he and blamed her for others dying. With the narration of Hannah Fisher and words of this author I wanted to reach out to her so much and just yell at those people! Yes, I know, but it is an example of how much emotion plays into these books.
Daisy has a hard road to find happiness, but she is led to the one meant for her, but it takes time and deep love. Simply amazing and I am praying myself this is not the last of the Mail Order Brides of Spring Water. I want to live there myself!

What matters in on the Inside!

Daisy is a very sweet spirited person who gives and gives of herself. Except the people in her town only see the smallpox scars and think she is less of a person because of it. Is isn't until she meets Sterling that she is appreciated for who she is on the inside and learns what love really is. Very enjoyable and sweet Christian romance with excellent narration.

Recommended

An excellent Christian story. Sterling and Daisy are a terrific couple. At first glance Daisy is a little to good to be true but on a second look, she definitely has some issues. She is very insecure and puts her thoughts on others about herself. Granted those thoughts have been confirmed much to often. This gets her into trouble.

I loved Sterling, he feels a lot of guilt over his brother and what he has done. He seemed more real.

There were several twists and turns I didn't expect and a very fitting ending.

Hannah Fisher did an outstanding job narrating.

Christian Historical Romance

I enjoyed this audiobook but found the self doubt a bit over the top! The townsfolk being so abusive seemed a bit far fetched too, but there is hatred, even among so called Christians. I understand these two concerns were needed for the storyline, but, they just didn’t seem realistic enough to me.
I thought the narration was very good.
I think the best part is that Kathleen is now writing Christian romance and I hope she continues! I have read a few of her books years ago and I much prefer this genre!!

I really enjoyed the way this story moved along. Daisy was given a rough road to travel but by being kind and good hearted she achieved her goals

Sweet Book

In this corrupt world of anxiety and stress this was the book I needed to just relax and enjoy. Sure there was concern and fear as I traveled through a lot of plot points and twists. Still, it left me wanting to know what's going to happen next. I was hypnotized in this cozy writers hands and enjoyed the trip. In fact I enjoy the trip so much I wish she made the journey longer. I wish she would have spent more time with the emotional twist so I could feel it even deeper. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars not five.

short but lovely sweet story!

** I am reviewing the audio version of this book.**

This was a short, but sweet story.
This novella seems to be part of a series, but works well as a stand alone also. Having said that, i will be keeping a lookout for more books in this series.
I really enjoyed Sterling and Daisy’s story.

The story was well written and left me feeling good.
I loved the set up Georgie and Parker had on their ranch. By contrast, I couldn’t believe how nasty the people in Daisy’s town were, but i guess people had strange, superstitious beliefs back then.
Lots of lessons about not judging people by how they look in this story.
Would highly recommend.

Good Story

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a good story. I liked how God was woven into the story. The story wove around several couples and especially Sterling and Daisy. Sterling is struggling with the promise he made to his dying mother and Daisy is struggling with scars left from small pocks. The story was well written and in the end, everything came out as right as possible. There were several paragraphs that described the conditions of the times.

Okay

This was an “okay” book for me. I read a lot of Christian romance books and while this is a sweet story I found the main character slightly unbelievable. The story also lagged especially at the end when you know what the conclusion is going to be.
Overall it was fine and I enjoyed listening to it.
