Did not enjoy Narrator

My children found the narrator to be difficult to understand. Perhaps it was the sound quality or his poor vocal variety. Whatever, personally, the way it was narrated also failed to capture my attention

narrator boring

If you could sum up Fairy Tales Every Child Should Know in three words, what would they be?

my kids hates the voice of the narrator..he shows no emotions..he reads like a professor..

Would you be willing to try another one of John Michaels’s performances?

no

Good Stories, Bad Audio

I know that most voice actors don't do fairy tails because it takes a lot of different voices. Like when you were little and Mom or Dad read you a bedtime story or when you read a book to your little one. I was just expecting a story to keep my little one amused on a long trip. Audible.com has just spoild me with great voices telling a storys that are vivid, not reading Tech manuals.

Fairy Tales told by a computer

Would you try another book from Hamilton Wright Mabie and/or John Michaels?

This book sounds like it's being read by a computer. It's difficult to understand has does not have the cadence of a human voice. The writing isn't the problem; the reading is.

Would you ever listen to anything by Hamilton Wright Mabie again?

Not if it has the sound quality of this recording, no.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of John Michaels?

Absolutely not.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Very Disappointing

So far, the worst audio book I've purchased. The stories are good but the narration (voice and quality) is extremely poor! My 5yo begged me to stop playing this book!

Don't Do It!!

This was so disappointing. My daughter commutes with me in the morning and we like to listen to audiobooks together. I thought for sure she would love listening to these fairy tales. The problem? It's written in early 1900s English and is just so dry. I couldn't even make it through the first couple minutes of each story.

Sounded like a computer was reading it!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Narrator was awful. Turned it off after five minutes - I was bored by it - no way my 2 1/2 year old would listen to it. So disappointed. Want to return it!

Snore!

Any additional comments?

The narrator was painful to listen to. Sounded robotic, without much enthusiasm. Didn't get past the first story. Waste of a credit.
